Read my last few posts, coasty. Dont get hung up on the semantics of 100%. If I knew gruden said ok to a deal Id call it done too. But that said that deal still requires admin signoff. And thats the apply pressure part it seems the booster side is trying to force.
Either that or he is slowly retracting his statements.Exactly! He previously stated that the deal was signed over a week ago, and people threw their panties at him. Now he's been backing off the last several days with comments including words like, "if" and "possible". Whether Gruden becomes coach or not, both of MIT's stances can't be true. Either way, he is spit balling and has given himself an out.
I can appreciate you coming to his defense, but I'd rather hear his explanation since he's the one who seems to have all the answers and steps ahead of us in this whole thing. You may be right, though.
Very much holding strong on 100% done on Gruden. This place is volatile after the really tough loss which is why most insiders are not coming around (people will accuse them or go off of the deep end).
UT cant afford what happens if they reject the Gruden deal. They like to build too many new buildings and construction projects to afford to piss off the people who put this thing together. Also, this time is very very different from 2012 between the players involved and Grudens situation.
I believe Beaver's information is correct to the best of his knowledge, mainly because it's rational and Atlanta Vol is vetted and MIT can accurately answer some questions.
Con may have not been the right word. I do believe VN and the fans are being used as leverage, and that noone knew how long this timeline would play out (long game). We still don't. UT's various factions are in he middle of high stakes poker. I will say, if I was setting something up and using the name MIT I would be ready to substantiate that, TN fan..check, in LA..check. You see the point.
Something has happened that causes me to proceed cautiously. Again, I'm not an insider.
So is Beaver a troll....I think no....is Beaver a chess piece..Yes!

Exactly. To say it's 100% done is one thing. To say the deal still has to be agreed upon is another. But both of these things cannot be true.
No contradiction here. MIT states 100% done deal in the first paragraph, then in the second gives a few reasons why the alternative position -anything less - is not viable.
This could have been expressed with a little more clarity; however, it is MIT, and not the Massachusetts Institute of Grammar.
Not selling. Influencing. He said people from MIT dont predict the future they influence it.
Its a done deal on the booster end. The nerds in admin are holding it up. He came here to give the fanbase the info it wants to put pressure on the admin.
All makes perfect sense now. Gruden is 100% done on the money end and Gruden is on board. UTAD IS NOT.

Pretty much a textbook example of how journalism works these days. What started and has been published as "rumors" concerning Gruden and the $10 million offer now is being "reported" but referenced from an obscure source as fact.Report: Tennessee has offered Jon Gruden over $10 million per year
Didn't know if this has been posted, sorry if it has.
SOON
As a recruiter we have an industry truism .. Time kills all deals. Status quo changes by the moment with peoples lives especially a re-location of family deal. I am so pissed I can spit nails right now with adm. Currie.. they need to get off their a$$es or we are headed for 20 years in the wilderness
I buy what MIT is selling and I understand how he is attempting to rectify the 100% confidence in a deal occurring with things not being finished but ultimately, I think he just needs to step back with percentage to 95 or 90%. Based on his story it seems that its a virtual certainty in his eyes but not yet in reality. Perhaps hes seen big money get their way enough that he does feel 100% confident even though a deal is yet to be completed. To me, as a math major, anytime I see 100% certainty before something actually occurs, Im skeptical. I believe MIT is who he says he is and knows what he says he knows, but I think he is overconfident in the competency of the UT administration. We are always capable of blowing it.
