Whether or not Jones is fired today/tomorrow should tell us a lot.
Of course it will out the posters who guaranteed it happening today but it should also give an idea if a "deal is done" regardless.
Being able to name Gruden or Kelly would offset players giving up and the recruiting class bailing. If one of those 2 are actual in the bag, we're free to make an immediate move.
If Jones remains, it's likely we are stalling a mass exodus of recruits until a coaching search is conducted.
I was surprised by the way Wes Rucker put it today:

Tennessee doesnt have to be a top-shelf football program, either.
Both situations require a choice. But one is most certainly going to have a direct impact on the other.
You cant have it both ways. You either keep Jones as your football coach, or you have a top-shelf football program.
One or the other.
