A couple people asked if I had heard anything. One of my people is not in a position to know whether Butch is gone. The other hasn't said anything since this morning. Not hearing news tonight doesn't change my position. A Kiffin-style firing at Lexington was a low-percentage shot. Let's see what tomorrow brings. :)

Just got back to the hotel. Tried to bring the Grude News to everyone in Lexington today.

Heard that call. Cut it off after that. Can’t stand to think those “fans” even exist. Losing to KY is a step forward!? For the second time since Ronald Reagan was president?! Give me a break...

A loss to KY in football is a fireable offense. Period.

Butch will be on his show in the morning spouting the same nonsense. "If a football field were 97 yards then we win that game everytime".

But we were able to get that oblong thing across the goal line today, that is progress.

Butch shouldn't have been kiffin-style fired there. Kiffin is a sleeze bag but Butch is a good guy that just couldn't get it done. I'm going to take a stab and say it happens Monday morning.

Im.glad that's over. Feel sick and relieved all at the same time.



Now we see what the new AD is made of.

I hope big Jim made the right choice over Blackburn.

Will you walk back that "good guy" statement after all the dirt comes out when he's **** canned? I think the local media has been covering up a lot of nasty ****.

Based on reading 30,000 or so posts here it seemed there was already a trigger in place for him to step down or be fired depending if there was a negotiated buyout.

I would say that trigger has to have been pulled.

All the dots connect to Gruden by way of Boosters and Peyton. Or it could be he really is retiring or staying at ESPN.

One thing is for certain, this program is at it's lowest point in a LONG time.

This administration needs to step up now or risk losing this fanbase and it's $$ for a long time.

I won't. No one should be fired Kiffin style. It's low class. Tennessee should be better than that.

We should wake up to the news that he's gone. Let the interim's first game be an "easy" one and hope for a bowl game finish. Hopefully announce a big hire within the next few weeks (preferably Gruden) and save the recruiting class.
