If these are the candidates, i guess the UTAD and others are fine with more of the same... another 5 years of slightly above average.... SMH
They have never once proven to me they can go out and get a big hire, much less a power 5 sitting coach and you guys can throw all the insider quotes you want to in here but it doesn't mean squat.
Durkin
Morris
Venables
Moorehead
Bobo
Shiano
Doeren
Dana Holgerson
Satterfield
Jim Bob Cooter
IYO Who is the best with quarterbacks? Or who do you see that would bring in the best staff that would help with quarterback development?
Why? He will be up for a HC job this year...
Hey, I totally agree with you here, I'm just not happy about it at all... I think this hire, unlike previous ones, will define the program and a lot of the fanbase moving forward... This alumni is tired of 9 yrs of crap and wants us to finally move forward and upward. If we don't, I am definitely changing and downgrading my support of the program... And I have a good feeling I am not the only one ...
There is nothing in his profile that fits with UT. Nothing. No SEC experience, no FBS HC experience, no long track record of P5 coordinating success. If we hire a coordinator, they are going to have a pretty big body of work that has been vetted, like Venables or Schiano.
I'm not saying he isn't going to get a job, but it won't be at UT. He's honestly less realistic than most on the lists you disparage.
Ok he is coaching under Franklin who does have SEC experience. He will be a HC candidate and if you think our powers that be will not give him a hard look you are the one not being realistic.
