I can't believe this fan base thinks like this. Seriously I can't believe. Okay you don't think Gruden is coming. Fair. But wtf?
We have settled for so many years....
We no longer except to compete for a SEC championship
We no longer expect to win the SEC East
We now FEAR Bama... (makes me sick to post it)
We only expect to keep a Big game close
We can't score a TD and make excuses
We accept mediocracy as the norm
We refuse to dream BIG
HOWEVER, AS FOR ME.... I will never give up... I WANT A WINNER and someone who not only makes the third Saturday in October mean something again but who makes the nation sit up ad take notice
rant ended finally :ermm:
It's baffling to think that he wanted out last year possibly badly enough to test the waters for other jobs and then he wanted a contract extension here before the season started. He obviously wants guaranteed longevity in his career, but I am not sure what else he wants.Regardless he wanted out last year. So there's that. And what coach let's a national writer sit with with his family during a known beatdown coming.

No BS theory...just my opinion, which is further supported by your timeline.
I didn't assert that it came out the weekend of the Georgia game for any particular reason, just that it did. This was a designed PR piece from the outset, no matter when it was agreed to. It was designed to either help squelch the noise after the Florida loss, or set the table for a sympathetic departure....but it was a contrived, controlled narrative.
Personally, I think he truly came to terms with his level of coaching ability last season. He was set up to win big and his absolute best effort didn't even sniff the Georgia Dome.
The rest of your words were great but icing on the cake....that right there is what I am all about and have been wishing for 10 years. I know it's probably hard now of days for coaches and all it takes BUT I hold out hope that Gruden is and wants to be the next Paul Bear fu@#% Bryant !I WANT A WINNER and someone who not only makes the third Saturday in October mean something again but who makes the nation sit up ad take notice
