I literally heard the same thing although it is not haslams old house. Actually he is looking at a house of someone I went to high school with, which is in butch’s neighborhood or pretty close at least.

It was said that way I have no idea where all the Haslams live or used to live lol. I wouldn't bring it here if not from someone I have known since college and someone with nothing to gain saying it. He was pissed they declined to make an offer on his house.

It was funny we were having an event at work and he stopped in and of course UT came up. I said something like "I would like to have Gruden but realize that's a pipe dream" when he said "I am not sure about the coaching gig but he is definitely moving to Knoxville and looked at my house and a couple others when he was in town." He went on to say his realtor said they had settled on another house that is a few doors down by Butch and he referred to it as "Haslams Old Home" or something like that. I was pretty busy and caught off guard by it so it is possible something got lost in translation.

Can we please get this Dan Mullen crap out of here? There’s got to be Mullen thread I somewhere...

Official Dan Mullen Thread I. For some reason it is having a hard time getting off the ground. Almost as if there is zero interest from the fans.

There are 3 Haslam's in play. Gov. Bill Haslam sold his house to Bert Bertlecamp.

Bill is going to move into Big Jim's house on Lyons Bend.

Jimmy's house on Lyons View is for sale.

It's confusing.

Thank you for clearing it up!

Can we get a link to the one on Lyons view that is in play?

I know people sound sour on Mullen, and so am I compared to Gruden, but if that falls through I think Mullen could be successful here, does fairly well with what he gets left with at State. JMO.

Bama? None of their QB's have done a darn thing in the NFL. Good college QB's, surrounded by boatloads of talent.

That’s why I asked “how many”. Bama, Ohio State and who else? Clemson loses without Bryant. USC loses WITH Darnold. Not a Mullenite, but he seems to develop guys that get credit for his success quite a bit. Maybe he has SOMETHING to do with it? :wink2:

Sexton is the most connected man in college sports. He’s also a master or pushing his clients for job openings ones, to get a higher contract at their current position

Unfortunately, he is smarter than most ADs.

Hope a lot of people tell us NO before he is asked.

And again, I ask...

Why should we be willing to go for a coach that:

Doesn't recruit
Is making real good money with low fan base expectations
Would cost us a metric crap-ton of money to pull from Starkville?

His recruiting classes has an average rating of 26 over the past 5 years, with a 32-20 record over that time. I don't think people understand how hard it is to recruit to Starkville. It is DESOLATE, absolutely nothing around it either. Has to be one of the worst towns to live in in the power 5 conference. Look at how he has that program running compared to where they were under other coaches. He's also developed and sends guys to the NFL regularly.

Again. I hope there are names above him. But I also think he would be a good hire.
