Just when I thought it was going to be a quiet Wednesday.....

“Just a few more days.”

I posted a week or so ago about my usual people for information remaining tight lipped on this latest process. Whether it’s bc they know things and can’t say specifics or that they simply are in the dark too, I wasn’t too sure...until today.

HOWEVER, one of them, a family member inside the AD, during a conversation this morning, told me “just a few more days and Butch is out.” Not much more on details other than he has one more game left.

Kentucky will be Butch’s last game and it’s been decided. He wasn’t sure if this was part of Currie’s plan from the beginning when the house of cards started to fall after the GA game (keeping CBJ through the UK game) but, basing this off of my guy’s comments and upbeat demeanor, it sounds more to me that they were waiting on something to happen or some development to be finalized (buyout details??? Something else???) before severing ties.

Butch will not be the head coach following the Kentucky game.

Also of note, he mentioned “things are starting to get public and the AD has maintained a tight lid environment so he can’t keep Butch around much longer.”

Not sure if this means Currie wanted to keep CBJ longer or to finish the season but I guess you can only keep things quiet for so long. Definitely makes sense that action time is coming and lines up with what he says.

One guy in the Grumors thread stated he works out with Grudens nephew and said he’s confident the deal gets done. LOL. I love grumors regardless of how it’s most likely false.

Also, another person stated Butch will be done after Kentucky whether he wins or not. Heard the same thing before the USCe game, and the Bama game..

I think there is genuine interest from Gruden, but I am still 100% in the believe it when I see him at the podium camp.

Also, I think anyone saying that Gruden definitely isn't coming is just as stupid as the people that are saying he is definitely coming. No one knows a thing this go around. I'll take the silence as a positive for now.

There is no "silence". The rumors haven't started because the job isn't open!

I'm not saying Gruden isn't going to take the job for any other reason than he has said previously he doesn't want a college job. That's it.

Currie may be better at all this than Hart. I think it's safe to assume so because Hart was terrible. However, as soon as this job comes open and agents start seriously talking to UT, guys like Hubbs and Hyams will know everything that's going on in the search.

Of course there's "silence" right now. There's really nothing to talk about other than "Hey, would you be interested in interviewing when the time comes?"

Because no coach has ever said one thing and did the opposite..

Of course those guys are silent, not what I'm referring to. You can choose to believe that normal posters have 2nd and 3rd hand info from friends, or not. But what I am talking about is some of those posters that are saying, "my friend usually has some info no matter how small and this time he has nothing". Everything is close to the vest and info that normally might come out is locked down. That's what I was referring to.

I may be mixing him up with someone, but it seems Doc has whiffed a lot. If I am, apologies.
