I don't believe he'll ever work in the SEC again, but the two parties would certainly deserve one another.

It was told to me as a joyful comment. Lol. He went onto say that if OM goes in another route that he was also promoting him to a couple of other locations. Like I said Fwiw.

Coasty, you increased your percentage today, is this because of something you have heard or what we heard from DTO and Boro?

Heard a conformation from someone I trust not enough to go 100% but close

Grude times coming soon is all I can say

If what McElwain said about threats is true. He may be wanting out of Florida. If not true Florida will get rid of him. I really don't want the Florida job open while UT job is open. Currie better have Gruden locked down now.

Another quote that lends credence to this theory was when she said "The next coach that comes in here will look like a genius" something to that effect. Found the exact quote:

"would" vs "will" but still think she knew at that time it was over.

Jones has never been dismissed as a coach, so that particular situation would be unfamiliar grounds for them both.

I have no doubt he came in with the best of intentions and wanted to get UT back to the top. However, the SEC will chew you up and spit you out if you're not prepared. And he just didn't have the skill set needed to compete at the highest levels. He had some tools like recruiting, but that only takes you as far as when the whistle blows and the ball is in the air.

If he takes another coaching job it negates or drastically reduces his buyout right?

My guess is that his buyout agreement from last week includes an official separation date of last week so negotiations could happen, but with a caveat of last day being after so many losses or being picked up by another school. I would even bet they are willing to waive the other school having to pay his buyout price. And us still being on the hook for the difference. By waiving the other school having to buy him out he becomes much more attractive to the types of schools likely to want him. I'd say that sexton is trying to make him more attractive to a lower level school by trotting out the ole miss interest.

I have no doubt he'll be a HC again eventually. But he'll likely take the Kiffin route and be a coordinator somewhere and end up at a smaller G5 school or the likes. He has to build his brand back up before he can even be considered again.

I know. Remember what a mess Bama was in the mid/late '90's? Memphis-Fulmer-NCAA probation- etc. They couldn't find the right coach.

It was said that when Saban came, he demanded total control. Part of that control was said to be no booster involvement in football decisions.

This is a sore spot for a lot of people. However, people that give large amounts of money expect large items in return. I am not defending some of the actions but just know a different perspective exists. I give a reasonably substantial amount and I expect certain things in return. The problem is what I alluded to a couple days ago. The top of the pile guys are always trying to take control and it is not just two camps but several. With that being said I am becoming more confident that some of that is being put aside. Unfortunately only time will tell.

I honestly don't think that happens, but.... If they were to fire Mac before we fire Butch and we end up with "Coach google my name", no matter who they hire, that will confirm what a cluster fug our administration truly is.

Just a thought for those that doubt the Grudes coaching ability. A great coach will have assistants move on to be successful HCs. Tomlin was DB coach under Grufen at TB. He went on to break Gruden's record as youngest Super Bowl winning HC in 2009. Pretty cool for the 2 youngest to be in the same coaching tree.

Apparently he said it during a press conference and the University of Fl. didn't know anything about it until then. So who knows.

Reduce his opt-out to go another school ($3 million irc) and reduce his buy-out by $3 million. Both sides win. Not an insider, just an idea.

Also, 83-52 as a head coach with SEC experience will be attractive to some schools out there. He can recruit. There are schools that are not huge football schools that would take .615 records, clean programs, and run with it.

I've done it for about 5 years now. At this point it seems barbaric and absurd to me that people leave their homes to work. Hahaha.

This. The only time I leave for work is when I have to visit my staff in locations that I have to travel to. I’m currently waiting for my flight in Columbia, SC.

Don?t see Gruden going to Florida but then a lot of people can?t see him coming to Tennessee

So one thing that seems to be a recurring theme is that the Haslams are a cancer to UT and the state of TN. Someone paint the Rock and tell them “gtgo!”

I think this sums up a lot of things

1. Our offense
2. Leadership Reps
3. Butch Jones situational in-game stuff
4. Scott's offensive playcalling
5. Our AD..........etc.

My first one. How'd I do?
