I think my life got busier after I retired. It's got its good points but it's not all kick back and take it easy, either.

Because I believe Jones was informed some time back he's not returning. His wife (I do try to leave family out, but it's relevant) tipped their hands at an interview a couple of weeks ago. Said something to the point of "we're in unfamiliar territory" in regards to his situation as coach.

Reading between the lines and interpreting, I saw that as "he's been told he's moving on and we aren't sure what will happen next."

It saddens my soul to know how much influence the boosters truly have over football programs.

I know. Remember what a mess Bama was in the mid/late '90's? Memphis-Fulmer-NCAA probation- etc. They couldn't find the right coach.

It was said that when Saban came, he demanded total control. Part of that control was said to be no booster involvement in football decisions.
