I have came to the conclusion...that since butch has not been let go...that something has been agreed to with a “big name”...A MOU or something. It is the only logical reason that he is still employed

Grude: Well, you know Bob, it’s just what we do here at UT, man. These guys have learned how to get it done on the big stage... proud of ‘em, but we’ve got more opportunities this year to show the world what we can do. It’s a crazy feeling, man.

This, this damn thread...the grass is a foot tall, no more laundry, wearing my skivvies inside out, wife and kiddo have become strangers, the dogs bark at me because they don't recognize me...all because of this, this thread...please, for all that is sacred, and my sanity... Please, SOON!

It's slowly getting better but the pay gap has left a big hole in new guys training to do it. This also happens to coincide with massive numbers of guys hitting age 65 in the airlines and being forced to retire.

Fact is the guy came in here with information. I simply noticed that there had been a bunch of talk about honors etc by him so as a member myself very easy for me to vet with a few simple questions to see if he was full of bs...he nailed them both. What he was saying also lined up with some of the things i had heard from my neck of the woods so I felt inclined to post and also make him an offer.

And for your info...the Blackburn deal was as good as done...until about the only person in those neck of the woods had to get involved....and it blew up. Which he is rather good at. Another epic failure IMO that highlighted the power struggle with some of our largest boosters. It has been a constant since i have been involved.

Any reason to believe the one you speak of will find a way to blow this next hire up? Not sure why some of the power players can't tell him to kick rocks.

Is it just me or does this thread get a little crazier by the day? If this doesn't get done soon I'm concerned with where this is all heading.

Went from 250 to 1500 total, less if you have an associates or bachelors. Military trained pilots only need 500 total. Airlines can take a military helicopter pilot and for 30k train them at a flight school in a single and multi-engine airplane, then they're ready to show up for training at the airline.

When you figure renting a single engine airplane runs 125-150/hr a lot of people can't afford to get 1,500 hrs.

Very true. Took my private pilot in 1991. Had 3 solo flights and was up for my extended which I picked Myrtle Beach instead of Memphis. Was going to have to pay for the rental plus gas although I was in a flight school and later get reinbursed. As an 19 year old I didn't have the money to continue.

Bell makes a great aircraft..flew the 206 in flight school.
