Also...y'all see the reports where Coach Mac at UF apparently lied about those "death threats"...apparently UF could fire him now without paying a buyout because of some clause in the contract.

It's semantics, but he refused to give additional details, not that it's proven he made it up. If they did try to fire him without conclusive proof he made it up I would imagine that would turn into a huge lawsuit regarding the buyout and would probably not be the best look for a school trying to hire a new head coach

Tennessee took the field Tuesday and the buzz on the practice field was definitely subdued. Just not a lot of energy or talking going on.

Still, the Vols got their work in running a few scout team special teams drills and their normal individual periods.

In green jerseys: Shaq Wiggins (sporting the No. 1), Brandon Johnson, Dillion Bates and Jeff George.

Noteables at practice in normal jerseys: Carlin Fils-aime, Deandre Johnson and Evan Berry.

Linebacker Austin Smith was working out over on the side.

The offensive line had just eight scholarship lineman at practice. Devante Brooks saw work at guard, while Ryan Johnson got lots of work at left guard.

During routes on air, Quinten Dormady took reps but as Butch Jones said Monday, they’re clearly prepping Will McBride in case of emergency — who received extra reps Tuesday.

The pass skeleton period was all slants during our availabilty, with George dropping two passes. Only two other balls hit the ground during the period.

Probably so. I hated the Dooley years, and it’s really tough to experience a season that feels worse than any of his. May end better, but it feels miserable.

How do they know he is lying? I'd be willing to bet he could easily find some toothless blue jean short wearing azz that told him he hoped he died at some point his year. Especially on twitter
