In Hutch's defense I don't believe he ever said Gruden would 100% be UT's next coach. He just said he was offered and that he believes Gruden will coach next year but wasn't sure if college or pro.

Hutch was off the train a couple of days ago but he posted tonight:

"Boys, it's about to get real"

I think one thing people under estimate is the fact we have a first year (young) AD. Common sense says he will be here for a while. I think that hurt us the last go around because it was obvious hart would retire soon. Coaches want to work for the guy that hire them.

Not first year. First year here, yes.

Care to give a synopsis of what went down regarding the beav?

I already deleted all my posts that would have lead to his identity but below is a 50k view of the deal with my 2 cents.

Beav is a legit mit grad that works at a venture capital and investment group. He has deep connections to the nooga area and a likely connection to at least one prominent booster. His connection is the money his company manages that may or may not be paying for our new coach. Knowing who he his does not confirm Gruden. How confident he is/was and how quickly multiple people with interest clamped down does give the smell of smoke. Like in a hooka bar huffing on the hooka smoke.

If we had kept Debo this team would be 5-2 with 5 very winnable games left.

I think this is about as close to a fact as you could have in this situation. We would not be scoring at near the pace that we scored at last year, but we would have scored enough to beat UF and USCe.

Seems similar. Success in lower conference, marching previous success, etc. Although the Oregon stuff is different.

OC of a top offense at Oregon

National recruiter of the year.

Undefeated with a team that was 0-12 just two years ago

National Championship winning QB

6 years NFL experience....on defense

Mother was Olympic athlete

His coaching tree and coaches he played under is tremendous

The guy has a pedigree of a champion

Beaver never actually acknoweledged the name that was put out there. In his goodbye post he was actually still going on about names previously mentioned. Think he just checked in and saw people were still digging a said Im out.

With the business i believe he is in he would not want his name publicly out there in a non-disclosure laden multi-million dollar deal. I still love him like a brother for his youthful exuberance and giving me hope.

I don’t think Frost would be a bad hire, there are lots of things to like about him.

The people acting like it’s either Gruden or then we just go get Frost are building him up to something he’s not yet IMO

He’s a massive risk that I would hope turns out for the better. His resume isn’t something that screams back up the Brinks truck and go get him.

I’ve been thinking about this and I’m wondering why we would want Frost over Mullen? Dan is proven in the SEC, we know he’s also great with quarterbacks. Frost is butch 2.0 to me. At first he looks great, but then you look deeper at the history of UCF and he doesn’t seem that special.

Sorry Bass

Mullen would do big things at TN IMO

If he proceeds to win every game on his schedule by 2+ scores, which looks very possible, that is the kind of dominance Urban Meyer put on display at places like Bowling Green and Utah. Not to mention that he'd be doing that 2 years removed from a winless season.
