I really hope we get Chuckie, but it won't happen. Why would he leave ESPN for a college job when he can get a NFL job?

1. He wants to coach again.
2. ESPN is making cuts
3. ESPN could be taking away some of his pay with those cuts.
4. To be with his son and family together while his son is in College.
5.To make Tennessee great agin!!!!

He doesn't want to deal with recruiting.

This weekend, although the most angering for me so far, was entertaining.

1-the lengthy discussions of why beav would drive to Vegas and LA including the plausibility of his drive time

2- his license plate

3- his email address, which was brilliant, btw, downthefield

4-NOW the discussions on the length of his golf game.

May as well change the name of the thread to Beaver Tales.

If Gruden is indeed the next coach could the wait have something to do with a contract he's under more so than Butch's buyout?

A thread with that title would probably overload the servers again.

buddy of mine messaged me and said a couple of billboards had been changed to basketball in knoxville. With this being said I doubt there is anything to it, because Basketball season is starting. Just thought I would mention it FWISW.

I know I’m ready to see a team over-perform their talent level for a change. Barnes is good with that.

It would be awesome if we had a team stoked with talent AND exceeded it...in any sport.

Good morning all. After reading overnight discussion, I really have nothing to offer other then the dude who said we have a "mean" fanbase.....Sounds like the comment of a man without a pair of balls. That's the verbage of the female species for peat sake. I put NO stock in it!

Okay. As suspected, while I haven't been posting, the siren's call of the Gruden thread has been too much for me to resist. I think I've figured out Beaver (with a missing piece or two), and maybe Bubba.

Throughout we have heard that all the boosters are in alignment except for a couple but they'll get there. Perhaps the Beaver is working with/for the booster(s) that don't want Gruden. Perhaps he is trying to kill the deal a la Les Miles to Michigan. I don't, at all, think that he is exactly who he says he is for many many reasons, but I think he is pretending to be someone he almost is. He won't give up his identity, but if he was being completely honest with who he is, anyone that knew him would know. There aren't that many kids from Chattanooga to get a master's from MIT who now globe trot. The screenname is a big question mark for me. He has obviously had it a long time.

I don't think that Currie is against this deal, and I think that this new administration has a different concept of academics vs athletics than the previous. I don't think the warfare is still there the way it once was. I just think that the Beaver is trying to sow seeds of frustration and anger in that system to suit his (or whoever he is working for's) purposes.

I still have a lot of question marks about Bubba. I am struggling to figure out the VC angle. I don't know why we need venture capitalists when we have billionaires that are themselves venture capitalist in a way. Unless, in a way, the boosters that are behind Gruden have formed a VC firm for this purpose. That's kind of the only thing I can come up with.

I am literally putting myself on a timer today, as there is work that absolutely must get done.

The Beaver is John Grisham and Bubba is Mitch McDeere.

How could what he has said derail the deal if there is a deal in the first place?
