"If Butch wins out"? We are literally the worst P5 offense in CFB. We'll be lucky to win a single game the rest of the way if Butch is on the sidelines. It's year 5 and we're 0-4 in conference play with the worst offense in America after another coordinator change. It's over for Butch. Haven't quite figured out why it hasn't already been done but no way is he back next fall.

And they better not screw this hire up and miss on a gamble or this program will be Nebraska...a once proud powerhouse who has been irrelevant for a decade and will continue to be that way for at least another decade.

Damn truth. Every word.

I went to the game yesterday and got some "inside" info from the Bama fan in front of me. He told me his friend is friends with Haslam(didn't say which one). He told me we are going to hire Charlie Strong. I did good to not openly laugh in his face, but I had a couple internal chuckles.

We aren’t good at anything anymore. Not even women’s basketball. And Currie and company are just sitting over there counting money probably laughing at us

Kind of feels like we’re there already.

I don’t care if they fire him in October or November, that’s not important in the long run. Get the hire right, and all is well.

Currie didn’t extend him for going 9-4 last year, and he has given Butch zero public support. Butch isnt coming back.

Currie needs to feel the pressure. If he doesn’t care enough about the team or the fans to fire Butch, maybe he cares enough about his own reputation and that will force his hand.

Let's see this play out before we judge Currie. Just because Butch is still on the job doesnt mean we wont be happy at the end of the day. I mean if we in fact presented Gruden with a Saban type deal then its off to a good start. The season is tanked at this point so for me it really doesnt matter when Currie handles it as long as he does.

I don't think Nebraska will ever return to its glory days.

Here’s my problem with those saying that 8-5 was expected. It’s not just the record, it’s the way it’s happened. That UGA loss is a scar on tennessee football history. A low water level, that’s not a hard fought loss. UF was missing half the dang team, surely you can’t say that was figured in at the beginning of the season? I think we’d all be dissapinted if we had the same record, but had been competitive in all of our games, but that just hasn’t been the case.

I'm not defending, just saying I have zero confidence in anything the admin does. It would be very "UT Admin" to let things play out and possibly retain him. Call it BVS or NegaVol or whatever. All I was trying to say is that until I see a proven coach that gives true hope to bring us back to glory being introduced as the next HC at UT, I'm preparing for more "bricks" next season.

I was only stating what was projected by "experts". I would be pissed to finish a season 10-3 with the losses coming to UGA, FL, and BAMA. That means no Championships and losing to the 3 most important teams on our schedule.

Is this Mit Beaver dude legit? He's saying big money boosters basically ram rodded Gruden down our academic administration's throat.

Do you recall anyone named beaver breaking Vol news before? Not sure why people trust this random dudes that never have news any other time except coach search time
