Rewatching the offensive plays from yesterday. Our receivers have no clue what they are doing. None. The flea flicker was just one example. They run routes on top of each other. They are the worst coached position on the field imo, well, maybe other than QB. This offense remains predictable. If someone moves in motion, they are getting the ball. Every. Time. This is garbage, pee see level football.

You cant expect a coach to teach a freshman everything in 1 year

You have to be trolling, I don’t honestly believe someone is really trying this hard to defend Butch that they lack basic common football knowledge.

Yes, you can teach a QB plenty enough in 1.5 years to be able to teach someone how to change protections. The junior starter wasn’t any better, btw.

Instead of attacking each other - how about attacking the issues? Let's get past the fire Butch mode. It's going to happen. He is firing himself.

Forget the top candidates - if one happens that's great. Focus on the realistic ones.

I am all in on Frost, Mullen, and Brohm in that order. Each has something special that translates well as a HC. They are strong offensive guys. The primary reason I want them is each is not dependent on innovative offensive schemes to win. Each develops players well. I believe each would view UT as an end destination job. Hugely important.

Frost is unique with having crossover D experience as both a player and coach that makes him really special. No individual player or coach can pull the wool over his eyes ever and would know that when they signed on. He knows exactly who should play what position and how they should play it on both sides of the ball. Which has translated to UCF turning around so quickly. Add in his strong leadership. Future star IMO.

Mullen's been on the national stage and is a top QB developer in a QB centric period of CFB offenses. He also gets lesser talented guys to play at higher than expected levels. He's seen a lot and knows what works in the SEC with NC rings from his UF days. Being at UT would open up his recruiting to stronger talent like he had at UF. We have seen in recent years that upgraded talent adds about 2 wins a year in the east division with just average SEC coaching. Butch has underachieved that because he is good recruiter/bad coach. Mullen has done the opposite. He overachieves with less talent.

I have posted about Brohm previously. Getting it done at a B10 bottom feeder with Saban wanting you as an OC previously. He doesn't throw caution to the wind with wild O schemes that make playing D impossible like a Norvell or Babers. His D is playing well of late, so there is a focus by him on that side of the ball. That makes him a balanced HC - which you need to be to win at a high level.

If it drops below the level of that group, I will reduce my attention to UT football. However, Currie may have somebody in mind not on the current radar that is equally attractive.

A step back is expected.

The worst offense out of all power 5 teams is not.

Also, a reason these guys have little to no experience is a direct result of piss poor coaching the previous 4 years. Teams we should smash we are going deep into the 4th with, and our backups are getting zero experience.

Agreed running out the clock and playing conservative is part of the problem

The Jr. Starter that only got sacked like twice yeah he had his other faults but at least he wasnt getting sacked every other play

Exactley and there is only 1 way for him to learn get live game reps. Hiw many times did dobbs get hit or sacked when he was a FR/SO it took him 3 years before he xould truly recognize a blitz and know when to rub

Dobbs had No protection from Dooleys not recruiting any Offensive lineman. It's year 5 with this group being the supposed best we've had in years.

Yes he is. Many of you still see JG with the backup QB mentality, or only looking at his ranking. You're not looking at what's in front of you. JG is not what you thought he was. At least at this moment he's not.

Tell me the defenses he faced compared to JG? JG doesn't have the legs like most thought but he's smarter with the ball. Thats a fact.

We were a joke in 2008, briefly not a joke in 2009, immediately a joke in 2010, and save for brief moments in 2015 (bowl game) and 2016 (UF, UGA), we have been a joke ever since.

I hope our decision makers are aware of that. I don't think they are. I don't think they quite understand how long we've sucked and how long we've been irrelevant.

QD was not any better. He was turning the ball over at such an alarming rate, we never had a chance to win games.

I’m pretty sure he’s still leading the SEC in turnovers and he hasn’t even played the last 2 weeks.

A counted 6 times where his protection broke down and JG had to scramble and he always kept his shoulders square and down field.

This offense has a multitude of problems but I think WR play is at the top. As good as Callaway naturally is, his route running and technique is lacking IMO.
