Lulz. Sorry for hurting your feelers.

I don't have any inside information or anyone inside at UT. However I do know counterparts in other AD offices in power 5 conferences. The only reason I talked to them today is that they all have a love for Atlanta United and it's the last game of season. We are also involved in a lot of charity work around Atlanta.
Anyway they said that the chance of Gruden becoming the head coach of UT was about 1%. Also that the chance of Butch getting fired before the season was over was pretty slim as well (unless things truly went sideways).
Again that is just their opinion and no inside info. One of them also said that UT is a sleeping giant with the gains the HS system has made in turning out players, and the right coach could make a huge impact early. And they are a "rival" of ours for recruiting purposes.
Anyway not really any good solid info, but thought I would share.
Also they all thought that Matt Campbell was the best up and coming coach. They all seemed impressed by him as well as Scott Frost. They didn't really like Chip Kelly, put him in the same bracket as Mike Leach, just too hard to work with. They did say that they watch Leach's press conferences though and loved them. Just said both would be to hard to work with at a Southern or Traditional power school.

Nope. Most are here for fun. And it's tounge and cheek. New people who show up claiming to be insiders are fans of other programs.

You make a point about the trolls being fans of other teams. I’ll say, I have extreme disdain for Florida, Bama, and Georgia, but I just don’t have the time to scheme up a fan forum troll game for other teams. I probably spend too much time on this thread but at least it is my own team. It must be a sad lonely existence for someone who has the time and energy to consistently troll on here if they are fans of another team.

“Sideways” would be a marked improvement.

see, that's where you may be right, may be wrong.
If people get disinterested in it, and get involved in something else, they won't care enough to come back.

the longer they stay disinterested, the less likely they can be won back.

it's people.

same for church for example. if they ever get disinterested, the longer they stay disinterested, the harder it will be to get them back involved.

if people fill the UT football void with something else, and start enjoying it, they won't be likely to be back, they'll be doing this new thing they enjoy.

this is true I didn't get exposed to UT football till my teens early 2000, once I did I fell in love. I have never got to fully experience us as the program we were for so long and ill admit I never missed a game for anything back then now welllll ill record it watch it later and made fewer and fewer trips up ever year. Same with church when I first got saved and was so involved with the church I would charge hell with a water pistol I am still active in church but fight my demons everyday as to what is truly important in life and what my calling is.

I don't want to name the other poster because he/she has been relatively quiet with short nuggets - & I want them to keep posting. Also, the connecting dots are somewhat tenuous, but combined with my OCD reading of this board, my woman's intuition, & my hopes/dreams for UT football, it's enough for me. Let's face it, we won't know for sure until we know for sure. However, I think MIT's screen name is DIRECTLY connected to one of the $ sources, so that makes me think he does know what he's talking about.

You in Atlanta? Man I hate traffic down there, I live just above Gainesville.

Hmm so what happened to the "insiders" that said it was a done deal that Butch would be fired Sunday after the Bama game?

I heard it was the next loss after the Bama game. And I heard that before the SoCar game. After the SoCar loss was told nothing had changed. I’m not the only one that heard that either. The situation is fluid and only Currie really knows what is going to happen. Plus with all the pressure the press has put on it’s really surprising that Currie has stuck to his timetable.

I have no idea why we would wait and personally think it’s insane not to pull the trigger now.

Just curious, WHY a misinformation campaign? This isn't the Pentagon and a coaching search isn't like leaking the nuclear codes. I'm sick of saying it but I really do feel like they've effed the fanbase by deciding to keep Butch.

Now this is info I believe for two reasons.
1) I know Slice from here and he loves Tennessee, and in no way do I think he’d try to mislead fans concerning stuff like this.

2) he’s been consistent in saying the same thing, and even that things might change. He’s not looking for ecred.

And a bonus, he tells 95 to shut up every day

Not everyone is believing, and he’s literally said nothing before someone comes and says “he’s been right about everything”. He said butch is fired, and Gruden is hired, both haven’t happened. He also claims to know contract details, and if you question him a few will attack you for even being in the thread at all.

Wasn't he one of the "Butch will gone Sunday" people?
