I also am starting to worry that Currie is not the evil genius that many on here were led to believe. I also believe that no firm decision has been made about Butch and I seriously wonder whether as much back channel work has been done as we would like.

I hope I am wrong. But, seeing Currie on the sideline yesterday looked like a show of support for Butch. Again, I hope I am wrong because if my assumptions are true, we are going to be in the wilderness for a long time.

IMO, Butch should have been fired 1-2 weeks ago.

I agree with what someone else posted, Currie didn’t look like a man who had a big fish in waiting. He looked disgusted as in, he’s got a mess with no answers.

I don't agree about not letting him on the plane. I do agree that beating Kentucky should never ever be the deciding factor in keeping the head coach at Tennessee.

I've never heard Russell say that unless he said that quoting a vn post. Otherwise, he's never pretended to be 'in the know.'

He was saying it last week on the drive, listen to Wednesday podcast I believe. He said he 100% stands behind Butch is out Sunday and Fulmer is intern

If this administration tries to trot Butch out for another home game, they might not have a stadium left. I think we are all so far beyond fed up that a riot might break out.

to me the most effective message would be for the stadium to be full or near full and when Butch trots out or is introduced, then everyone calmly gets up and head for the exits.

Good morning my fellow Grudenites!

I've just caught up (again) and here are my thoughts from the overnight.

-Stripling? Bizarro world. I doubt that. Interesting that it came from someone whose rep would seriously be on the line.

- I'm fairly certain that if someone else trots in here claiming to know contract numbers that my homie, UTVolinExile's head is going to explode.

-learning that LWS gets his info from fulmer actually helped me discount it.

-At some point if Gruden is continuing to come to the table and have his demands met, and waste our time, his reputation as a professional will start to diminish. He knows this and his agent knows this.

-If everyone connected to the AD was saying the same thing I'd be more inclined to believe, but there are some claiming to get their info from there trotting out numbers.

-There is one poster on here not getting info from either camp but I believe his to be the most solid. He says nothing has changed. He might be trolling me, but I don't think so.

- My husband is starting to recognize that I'm spending all my time chatting with a bunch of men. He claims it's like him going to ladies night at a bar. Let's keep it clean-ish and straight for the duration so I can stay please!

In honor of your hubby, I vow to go to my wife's next, girls night out.....

You have to give me a like for that.. :)

Hey that's different. Havent heard that yet. I'm in the wait and see camp. I don't believe many people really know whats happening right now

The only thing I know is Butch is still employed right now. Ppl may hate Finebaum, but he's right. This can't go on any longer. But yet, it is.

Good Morning Grudenites!

Hope some better news. On my way to the Miami Dolphins game to get over the hangover from getting slammed by Bama yesterday. Dolphins gonna whoop the Jets today!!! check in later

P.S. Soon......

My take exactly. He should have been out in front of this weeks ago. Let's hope we are wrong.

Doug Matthews saying he thinks they will make a change but per his sources the decision has not been made. Reading between the lines I take that to mean there are factions among the decision makers who are not ready to row in the same direction. That is discouraging.

Well I doubt if he was gonna be fired today he would not have already done the Butch Jones Show. So the "in the know" crowd who said Butch was gone after BAMA were dead wrong which makes everything they said about Gruden 100% wrong. There just looking for E-Cred....move on nothing to see here

Agreed. Worrying, for sure.

Currie is a good actor. Puts a good show on, esp when knowing his presence lingering on the field is gonna be scrutinized by everyone everywhere.

Just ammo for the gun

I'm hopeful that MIT is an agent or lawyer and has actually seen signed contracts, hence his confidence. I'm not exactly sure what a misinformation campaign accomplishes though unless it is to deflate all Vol fans and then elate them with a Grude run hire. Or it gives the impression "we tried" and sets the stage if we end up with Bela Fleck - which would be more talent on the sidelines than we've had in awhile. I don't see the point of the misinformation campaign if we have our man. Get the Grumor mill going, get the hype train rolling and let it all explode with joy on Grude Day.

If we don't get Gruden, I seriously would be happier if we let Phil have the team back for three years, get them back to being an SEC football team, and groom a championship calibre replacement for that time.

Rofl to giving Fulmer the job for 3 years. Good God Almighty.

I'm fully entrenched with Butch has to go.
