Just woke up at 4:30am, hoping that Butch has been fired. Extremely disappointed. I’m afraid our new AD is just as incompetent as the last 2

I knew he wasn’t going to get fired this week. I can’t imagine why but it’s apparently going to be after the next loss post Bama.
There just doesn’t seem to be a good reason to wait. But that’s what Is happening. If he was going to be fired this week we’d know already.

Good morning my fellow Grudenites!

I've just caught up (again) and here are my thoughts from the overnight.

-Stripling? Bizarro world. I doubt that. Interesting that it came from someone whose rep would seriously be on the line.

- I'm fairly certain that if someone else trots in here claiming to know contract numbers that my homie, UTVolinExile's head is going to explode.

-learning that LWS gets his info from fulmer actually helped me discount it.

-At some point if Gruden is continuing to come to the table and have his demands met, and waste our time, his reputation as a professional will start to diminish. He knows this and his agent knows this.

-If everyone connected to the AD was saying the same thing I'd be more inclined to believe, but there are some claiming to get their info from there trotting out numbers.

-There is one poster on here not getting info from either camp but I believe his to be the most solid. He says nothing has changed. He might be trolling me, but I don't think so.

- My husband is starting to recognize that I'm spending all my time chatting with a bunch of men. He claims it's like him going to ladies night at a bar. Let's keep it clean-ish and straight for the duration so I can stay please!
If your husband had any clue of the average intelligence of us VN men, he would probably encourage you to spend more time posting, just to make him look better.

Makes no sense. Each day that they wait, closer to early signing day is a mistake

I was pondering this whole fiasco this morning and something has struck me as very odd. We have "insiders" popping in all over saying Gruden is hired, Gruden is off the table, giving coaches names being considered, etc, but not a single one can tell us when Butch is being let go. This seems completely backwards to me. This leads me to believe that nobody knows squat. Butch is still the coach and until he's fired I'm not gonna put stock in anything anyone is saying about a new coach. That's where I'm at and where I'm gonna stay until Butch firing is official.

I believe whatever happens, presser today or Butch coaches next week....is in the best interest of what Currie is trying to achieve. He has a reason for everything he does.

I'm still aboard FWIW...no info, just nothing telling me otherwise.

Thanks for coming in. I don't blame you for skipping yesterday's madness.

I just think letting Jones coach after this game is a potentially very bad mistake; this is the perfect time to let him go.

The schedule gets easier and for all the crap we’ve been, Kentucky is still Kentucky. They find ways to lose against us. Mizzou and Southern Miss are also both probable wins IMO. Who knows what Vandy team shows up but they look worse than last year now. LSU is the only team left I think is a solid L.

Currie can royally eff this up if he isn’t careful.

See, what we've been told by you guys about Currie being way different than Ham and Hart and it being a "brand new day" doesn't jive with "well another big old swing and a miss on Gruden and now we're hoping Frost (or some other meh hire) will listen"

The last sentence should be written in past tense.

Unless there is something to the November 3rd date for Gruden being done with his son's HS season. The right "name" hire will save the early signers as long as he's announced prior to December.

Just speculation and my opinion.

I've been thinking about this more and more. Anyone think there's a chance Currie wants to announce it during halftime at homecoming? Get 100k people stirred up to enjoy his big moment?

Good morning all. Nice to see it didn't take long to catch up, pretty slow night. With that said, I had a dream about this thread last night. Care to know the details?

I stopped predicting days ago. I haven't heard anything. The only thing I stated as fact was that Butch is gone, and that was decided after Georgia. Everything pertaining to Gruden sounded positive, but we know how that goes. What we don't know is how many moving parts negotiations with a guy like Gruden entails. 'Bama pursuing Saban went for weeks, with multiple rejections. I've not heard anything positive or negative....I don't think anybody knows anything right now, and that is how Currie wants it. That keeps me positive.

I think big time negotiations have loose timeframes.

Getting it done properly is more important than getting it done on time.

With that being said....I really want Butch fired.

But I think Currie being quiet is the most telling statement he could possibly make. Something is cooking. Otherwise he would have issued a statement of support or whatever. Just to get himself on record....but he hasn’t.....and that should be a big sign to most that he’s busy.

My dad used to tell me when I worked for him and my uncles construction business “hard workers don’t talk much”—hopefully that’s why Currie is playing possum.

Watching his body language on the field last night after the game was extremely telling. He looked like Patton surveying the damage after a battle. Taking it all in. Haha. That’s what he reminded me of.

It wasn't a dream. I just hope the judge goes easy on our sentencing.

I would say you are spot on.

I wouldn't think homecoming, no....but if he is going to make this hire he's going to want the publicity it will bring to be maximized.

That would be pretty cool though.

I didn't skip....Saturday's are Maryville College football days since my son is playing. Nothing else even remotely matters.

Yesterday was homecoming...we won 35-14.
