I wonder if Frost or any other coach would keep Shoop, and let him hire a defensive staff.

I would think Gillespie gets a solid chance to state his case too, if he wants to stick around

I would keep Shoop . He just did everyone who plays Bama going forward a favor yesterday. Those blitzes were having an effect till we got gassed.

My apathy continues to grow. If Butch loses another and isn’t fired, that tells me UTAD doesn’t care. And then if we hire Mike Bobo or another up and comer, I’m cancelling my Volnation account and just checking in to the team for the preseason mags and on Saturdays in the fall (which would be a healthier way to follow anyway).

I don't know all the NCAA rules, but does it help to fire someone early (Unless you are hiring a Gruden/Kelly who don't have coaching obligations?)

This year is different due to the early signing period. I think you have to have your guy in place by the day after the end of regular season.

If JG throws it to Callaway he probably scores. I believe it was WR screen he had blockers in front of him.

Statistics won’t show it because of our nonexistent offense, but he’s done well. Pair him with an offense that could score a measly 25 points per game and I bet it looks a lot better

Wow... I went to the Scott Frost thread in the FF

I have no words...

<spoiler> they aren’t fans of Frost

They are delusional. They only want Gruden, Peyton, Kelly, or Patterson. They dont understand we arent landing a dream hire like that.

Right now Frost is my dream hire. The other coaches ain't coming . Don't try and tell them the Easter Bunny doesn't exist.

Butch:brick by brick

Frost: There is a brick wall. Let's run through it together.

I’m all in for Frost, and I require you to all mock forever if he fails here.

I’m in the camp of believing the team would rally around an interim coach and play better the rest of the way without all the pressure and negativity.

In 2012 when we beat Kentucky to end the season with Chaney as coach the players played their best game and said it was the first time they had fun in a long time. 2015 Miami did it with Golden and that team played well the rest of the way. LSU had a similar experience with firing Miles.

I just thing you forego the inevitable keeping him around and it is a burden to him, the team and the fans.

Shamburger makes all sorts of noise in camp... so we save him till now... and he leads the team in tackles

Another brilliant personnel move

Not to mention you can openly negotiate with candidates once Butch is gone.

I respect much of what Butch did here and don’t hate him. I just think it is time for him to go.
