Haden had more faith in a guy At the time already rumored to have a drinking problem (sark) than Fisher. Not sure if that says more about Haden or Fisher? I also remember thinking Callahan would be a homerun hire @ Nebraska..... maybe you're right man.... I don't know Ish about football:eek:lol:

they are not tanking. Kids played hard today and gave effort. We just are not very good.

That is a shame when we have had Great recruiting in last five years ....... no development

Help me (and the rest of Volnation) out her a bit. I’ve been thinking about how different you have been this whole situation. Even thamilron came and went but you’ve stuck around. You are apparently wealthy to some degree which allows you to run in some circles many will never know. You also play a lot of golf and I know first hand that tons of business gets done on the golf course. Take this the right way, but you must not have a close relationship with the person who’s relaying this info and they have no clue you’re sharing it, so you don’t care to break their trust. They’d never suspect you to share it. Only reason I’m asking all of this is because it’s clear only 2-4 people probably know ANYTHING right now and the way you’re talking, you’ve got to be pretty close to that inner circle in a way they’d never suspect you to be a leak.

I think you have summarized most excellent. He won't be around much longer. Nothing but a braggart. He doesn't know the timing of the firing of Butch but knows everything else about details of hiring Gruden.

And this just happened over night? Nobody saw this coming last year? If these kids and coaches suck that bad then the whole AD needs to be fired for not having wuality checks in place last year.

Guess recruiting class ratings are all BS now.

Agree with this... If Gruden agreed to a deal then Jones would be canned and Gruden announced. No need to wait, no reason at all... you do everything to juice the team for rest of the year and pump up recruiting class.

Jones wants out as bad as fans want him gone... its a matter of time and if we know replacement, we move as soon as possible. JMO

The inner circle probably includes at least six booster families some of which may be represented by one person and some of which are multigenerational with multiple insiders, the AD, Chancellor, System President, BOT Athletics Committee Chair, several lawyers for UTK, Butch, Sexton and some of his people, and possibly the search firm and coaches we are targeting and those coaches' representatives. Assume that almost all of those people other than the lawyers, AD, and search firm people have blabbed to at least their fellow family members. Now assume that most of all of those people have confided a nugget or two with one or more trusted confidants because what hell good is a secret if you can't tell it to someone? Maybe only a few people know the whole story but there are probably hundreds, maybe thousands, of people who know something.
