Don't believe I did... Hart and he never got face to face but we had people (boosters) talking and pushing him.. He gave them requirements. BTW, same boosters were pushing this time and brought a lot others in... people need to understand, he ain't interested in college coaching.. that is the bottom line.. I doubt you ever see him on a college sideline..

This is complete BS. It definitely didn’t happen that way.

And also why I always have difficulty believing LWS’s information. Among some other small nuances I’ve picked up on his info lately.

So Gruden turned down like $8-$9M, and other lower tier options are not responding positively. What’s the problem here? Is it just a bad job now or what? Just hoping for some context.

I'm not arguing that Butch should be gone and gone NOW, but Frost is not a proven HC. He's just not, and anybody that says different should do a little research. He's another big time gamble HC that's gonna go from UCF to getting thrown into the SEC. Good luck with that. We'll suck for 5 more years and be hunting again.

You blaming the AD? Sounds like they offered Gruden a Sabanesque. What are they supposed to do hold a gun to his head and make him sign?

Didn't say I was happy with the idea.

If, the big IF, the "top tier" coaches turn us down, who then? Frost is a hot name and it wouldn't surprise me in the least to see him coaching at a P5 team next year.

I am not sure you understand the coaching landscape anymore. A guy like Gary Patterson doesn't want to leave for UT at $7 million when he already makes $5 million and has a statue at his school. Coaches want stability, and coaches in demand are successful wherever they are and don't want to leave. Florida hired Mc and LSU hired Orgeron. Those are better jobs than UT. It is what it is.

I would rather keep butch, or promote from within if they're hire another unproven coach, and shop around again next year. I'd rather sacrifice one year compared to the next 5. Jones has rebuilt the program to a better state. We don't need to start from scratch again.

So Larry sent us an email this evening saying that gruden turned us down and we are after Scott frost now. I'm connected in ways.
