I was in Tampa when that happened. The Glaser's who own the Bucs, Bought ManU soccer team. They immediately went cheap on the Bucs gutting the team. Lost Sapp, Rice, Lynch,K. Johnson, McCardell and other key players. Hell, Gurden went into one season having to play a rookie 7th round pick from Tulsa at QB. That is why his record went to crap in TB.

This...also the GM screwed the pooch by pulling Mike Hamilton type deals before Gruden got there. The salary cap was so tight they couldn't resign anyone. Also the GM didn't let Gruden grab who he wanted Draft wise at times.

Also....5 division titles in 11 years in the NFL were the teams aren't all that lopsided....

That's not how this works. His buyout is already set in stone the moment he signed an extension. There was no debate, negotiation, or anything of the sort.

He was always going to get 100% of his buyout.

Not accurate. Discussed why several times over the last week.

Shooting straight. Everything you said in your post was accurate except that the pissing contest is over, Currie won. Butch is bought out.

How do you like the Milton area? My family and I vacation in Navarre Beach every year and I would like to retire there...we love it there. I am curious what the area is really like from someone who lives in that area.

Unless he agreed to something less. Nothing is set in stone, terms can always be renegotiated.

Sure, we're putting out **** on-field, but we're still the most profitable AD in the country and are in the SEC. Top-30 job is reasonable.

It's not like I'm saying Tennessee is a top-10 job like some people here do.

I’m saying there’s not 29 other FBS jobs better than UT. Cowherd thinks it’s still top 10 and he gets paid pretty good $ for his opinion.

Butch was entitled to a certain amount of money to be bought out of his contract, payable over a period of time. However, Butch and the AD were free to agree to alternate terms, and have done so.

Mixed feelings, to be honest. Don't get me wrong, the beaches are pristine, prettier than just about any others I've been to. And I personally like small town atmosphere, Milton fits that.

But...I'm not really a beach person. The summers are ridiculously hot and muggy. I miss mountains and rolling hills terribly. And there's hardly any change to between seasons. Spring and Fall are pretty much nonexistent. And oh yes, the sports fans are intolerable. :)

Lots of people retire here very happily. For me though, i still feel very transplanted.

Do you know if Butch is out this week or is Currie going to let him break the streak? (Never had 8 losses)

Thanks for your input, I am a beach person and love it there. I'm sure that area has problems just like every city or town has and I am sure the sports fans do suck but just something of note...we stayed at the Sundunes condos the year before last and there was a house across the street that was decked out in UT flags so there are some good guys in the area:)
