I absolutely do. My story is simple. I was all in in 2012. I thought I would have to replace my f5 button. After the fact I was able to verify that the fish had been on the hook by someone deeply involved without the possibility of getting egg on his face. So I continued to believe.

I am obsessively detail oriented. I can smell a rat when one is around typically based on a person's driving motivation and timing. I'm also married to a former head coach so I know what all it entails.

A couple more puzzle pieces have come together for me in the last 24 hours, and knucklehead just verified his validity for me.

I'm now at 90%, AND I think it has been locked up for a while.

So, a VN star is born. Good on ya, young lady. (No disrespect intended. I'm an old geezer, everyone is young from my perspective).

Respect your diligence and enjoy your outlook.

So, my theory is that after the Alabama game last year, things started moving in this direction. Everyone with any critical thinking skills knew that we were going to need a new coach, and that an up and comer wasn't going to cut it. Cue Currie in February. Peyton does the leg work to patch things up between Currie and Fulmer. Cue Fulmer in June. I believe that this has been going on for months. I think that Gruden (or his agent) could see the writing on ESPN's wall, and they knew an exit strategy was needed. The pieces I heard that solidified this part for me was the part about the Gruden family's house search starting before the Florida game. Also, the fact that any immediate member of the family is even alluding to the possibility in public tells me that his part of the deal is done. These folks aren't new to the world of being in the public eye. Their son wouldn't be talking if he wasn't supposed to. He grew up with a very famous dad, he knows how to do things, and he doesn't need the attention. That brings me to the most fascinating piece of this whole thing which is the fact that the son is an AGR. He could have picked any fraternity, and he picks AGR. This tells me SO MUCH about that family. I think this tidbit is way undervalued I digress...

I think that Orlando Vol brought the goods last night. He confirmed that puzzle piece for me. I also think that Currie or his office intentionally sent trolls to muddy the waters. Trolls with many different stories, many of which hold a nugget of truth. Some may not even know they are trolling us (or trying to).

This theory is about human nature, and the way big business is done. It is not about Butch Jones losing football games he shouldn't. He has wanted out since last year. His family has wanted out. I think Currie wanted to wait until the end of the season. Maybe he will and maybe he won't. I've thought that Fulmer as interim was absurd. However, if it is Fulmer there is absolutely no way that the ink isn't dry on Gruden.

Again, only a theory based on obsessiveness.

Tune in next week for more "Grumors, She Wrote"!

In Hamilton County you can apply for a waiver to not require the emissions test if the car is being used primarily in another state. A couple of years ago, my dad gave me a car that was registered in Hamilton. I was living in South GA and it would have been a pain in the rear to get it tested. For 3-4 years I didn't have to get it tested.

Wow. That actually is the piece that helped me sleep last night. You might be my undoing!!

What did OrlandoVol say or could at least refer me toabout what page it may be on?

What all you are seeing come out this morning is damage control from Currie. Butch coaching until I'M at a minimum, and dormady being hurt and not thinking of leaving the team. They are trying to save some face with media and particular recruits. This is coming after the strike out on Gruden, and limited conversations with patterson.

What does your radar say about this, SFD?

Ok. This is going to be a little long, but please everyone read. Also let me say that I am all aboard the Gruden train and have been for years. Hoping this is finally the time it happens.

Now, I don't want to dampen anyone's excitement here, but legally there are some things that need to be cleared up in this thread. Mostly this is just timeline stuff. I have seen several places rumors that there are agreements in place with Butch and Gruden, and everything is just waiting to be announced, etc. This is absolutely, incontrovertibly false. There is zero chance the general counsel's office would agree to these "agreements" at this point in time. Why? There is one major roadblock in place, Butch is still employed by the university and has a contract.

Butch:
Now, I have also seen places where "Butch and the university have agreed to something" but no coach is agreeing to be fired/resign and then continuing to coach, it just doesn't happen. Certainly it doesn't happen without news leaking. The GC's office may have something typed up and ready to go for if/when Currie pulls the trigger, but believe me when I say the nothing has been finalized. I am sure the GCs office has reviewed Butch's contract and has been advising Currie at this point on what would happen if/when he decides to fire Butch. But there is no contract in place between Butch and TN, yet, that formally ends the relationship. Sorry.

Gruden:
For Gruden the issue becomes even clearer, then, based on the roadblock. There is absolutely no way he has any sort of agreement to coach TN yet. ZERO. In fact, there is ZERO chance that any sort of agreement has even been initially drafted, etc. As long as Butch has a contract in place, any agreement or formulation of an agreement with Gruden would constitute tortious interference. Butch would love for this to happen. Why? Not only would he sue Gruden/TN and receive the entire value of the contract that was interfered with, he would also be entitled to punitive damages. Even worse is that Butch would have a claim for a negative injunction against Gruden and the school that would legally block Gruden from taking the TN job. All because they would have frustrated Butch's ability to complete his own contractual relationship with the university.

So where does this logically leave us?
The timeline has to go in order. First, Butch has to be fired. This would end the interference claim and allow Currie and the GCs office to engage in actual negotiations with Gruden and his team. Second, becomes the negotiations. Third, is the offer. And fourth is waiting for an acceptance or denial. Its really that simple.

Now, the positive news. TN is not sitting on its hands doing nothing. I would be shocked if people like the Haslem's, and Peyton, and Phil are not in touch with Gruden's people gauging interest. It would be criminal not to know where he stands before embarking on this attempt. I would guess we also know there is mutual interest there. Back channels are probably feeling each other out. Gruden may be even contacting people to see who might form a staff with him, if he is offered the job. That is all prudent for the decision making. Perhaps Gruden would only come if he has the right team in place, I don't know. But he would be dumb, knowing the rumors are out there, to not at least be investigating whether he'd take the job at this point too. So sit back and wait. Nothing is in place. I would hope and assume that Butch will be fired after we get drilled by Bama this weekend (sorry, its definitely happening). If he is not, then it is time to direct the anger towards Currie and force his hand.

The time has come. We need to fire Butch. Its over. While we may not get Gruden, my hope is that the school at least throws the blank check his way and makes him say no. But if they truly care about TN, then they have t make him say no. If he turns us down, fine. Then go to the next best coach. Enough with the bargain bin diving.

Go vols! Go Gruden!

I still don't necessarily believe him though lol. My line of thought on this actually lines closest to your theory. I severely doubt they put Fulmer in as interim as well. I doubt they pull someone from administration former coach or not, to step over the current coaches and lead everyone needs Ion't think that has ever been done.

“I guess the reason I shared my conversation is that it actually made me believe that Gruden might actually come here — which I want personally.

I have been skeptical about all of this, partly because I have believed like a lot of people that “JG has a great gig, why would he leave” — but after remembering what my buddy went through back in (April?) wondering if he was going to be let go, I talked with him a few times that day checking in on him — it made me think he might have some “info” on the possibility.

After my conversation with him today, in which he told me that JG was rumored to be one of the casualties (because of his high salary), and continues to be speculated about as a possibility in the next round of layoffs when it comes — it gave me a different outlook on my previous mindset regarding his “cushy” job.

Make sense? I am not trying to represent that I have any direct info regarding a potential hire, just info to be taken how you want...”

—————————

There, I’ll save you the trouble of trying to find it — a conversation I had with someone who has a much better idea than most about who is rumored to be let go when the next round of layoffs come. “Office gossip” if you will. ;)

To be fair, anyone with a huge salary would be a prime target, so TIFWIW.
