The Gruden search 5 years ago was the most fun I have ever had following one of my teams. EVER.

This one is not as fun because I can't suspend disbelief again. It's like when you have an uncle tell you wrasslin is real when you 11 and you realize he's right.

Eh I think that's overblown. It's why Peyton probably will never coach here. Better to stay a legend than almost inevitably get fired from your alma mater.

I compared it to when my brother told me on Christmas Eve there was no Santa when I was 9.

It really was an amazing time last go round. I'm a believer again just not as strong.

It's like when you're driving down the road daydreaming about winning the lottery. I just like to imagine what it would be like if Jon Gruden was announced the next UT Head Football Coach. It would be so glorious it's hard to put into words. The amount of joy that would create among our beaten down fanbase. The amount of media coverage we'd receive. The recruiting buzz would be like nothing we've ever seen. We would likely sign Trevor Lawrence and any other elite talent that Gruden set his sights on. It would be simply amazing.

I'm going to hold onto that dream until it doesn't happen. Because, you know what? It might come true.

Part of the reason I defended Butch last fall was because he beat Florida and started 5-0.

It was so nice to be able to dream a little. It gets so old losing 2 or 3 games before mid October. We had hope last year if only for a few weeks. It sure was fun to be undefeated.

My family was vacationing at Callaway Gardens in July one year and I had been out playing golf all day. I came into the cabin and my wife told me I needed to have a talk with my oldest daughter as she was very upset...they had spent some time earlier in the day talking about Santa not being real.

I said, "Really? In the middle of freaking July??"

4:25 PM - ericberry4heisman posts a screenshot of a conversation with someone named Big Al and with his last name blacked out, where Big Al says Leonard Little is just trying to create a smokescreen and it's a done deal that we're getting Gruden and that Butch has lowered his buyout.

4:38 PM - someone points out that ericberry4heisman was the one who sent the text that supposedly was sent by "Big Al" and demands an explanation

4:42 PM - ericberry4heisman said the screenshot was actually captured by "Big Al" and sent back to him so that he could then upload the conversation to VN after getting permission from "Big Al"

4:46 PM - another person demands ericberry4heisman show his actual screenshot from the text he sent from a Mac to prove this is for real

4:48 PM - person suggests to ericberry4heisman that he make sure all the wording and alignment are correct so that people actually believe he's showing his screenshot

5:07 PM - ericberry4heisman posts a "screenshot" from his Mac but apparently didn't take heed of previous poster and uses "buy out" on his screenshot instead of buyout and his alignment is way off.

5:23 PM - ericberry4heisman admits he faked the whole thing and won't be posting again.

5:24 PM - ericberry4heisman posts again anyway, defending the honor of BoroVol and LittleDTO
