Technically he is coming. Unless we hire a female coach.

Of course not... few would... maybe Leach only, but would be epic.

Team would be motivated from the sheer excitement of it.

“OK guys, no punters are traveling this week... we won’t be using them. We are going to blitz hell fire and fury constantly. Defense, when your gassed, next man up. I don’t even care who it is. Offense... laterals are in play. Use them. We are going to spread the field and be all over it. OL, Destroy what’s in front of you. Wild Cat is going to be used often. We will throw and run from it. Let’s see what happens fellas. Who’s in?”

Just some andedotal information for reference

On the projects I worked on in industry I'd often be in meetings with senior managers and vice presidents for the client. I'd hear things that the masses weren't supposed to know or get wind of until the timing was right. For example, 2 of my capital projects, one at $325m and the other at $450 were going to be suspended in September of 2008 due to the financial crisis but we were still going to work up until Christmas because we had funding in place for fiscal year 2008. Nobody was supposed to know that we would be laying off hundreds of people on both projects. I am the worst person in the world for keeping secrets from my team although I don't just come out and tell them what I know. I figure out a way to let them know without actually telling them if you can understand that. I don't figure I'm unique in that practice. I actually have good relationships with the people who work on my projects and I almost feel like I'd be betraying them if I allowed them to be totally blindsided. Plus the information is filtering out from other departments and so pretty soon everybody knows or suspects and all I have to do is say things like based on what I'm hearing I would not be surprised if that's the way this plays out.

I realize this is a little bit different but my point is that people who know do talk and the more people that know the more cover they have for talking. No doubt we have trolls but if you believe that there was no effort in 2012 to get Gruden then everybody is a troll. If you believe there was an effort in 2012 then it's likely because of various well-known and credible sources suggesting or hinting at as much, including Gruden himself. In my opinion we have credible reporting already on the record this time but all we can know at the moment I think is that, No. 1, We're likely making an unofficial (boosters) effort right now, and No.2, Currie is likely more favorable to making a deal with Gruden than any of his predecesors. jmo.

If you do not believe No. 1 and No. 2 then you are likely a NegaGrude. jmo.

If you do believe No. 1 and No. 2 then you are likely a reasonable and realistic person with a very high intelligence capacity and are probably a lot of fun to be around. jmo.

I'm working...what did Matt's say

Posted in Gruden thread...

"A lot of back channeling going on for sure. CJG had planned to be here for awhile for this game. With Gruden, it will move quick once the ax falls"

"Clause in ESPN contract that has out for this"

And here...

"This will be handled differently vs 2012"

Wouldnt that piss you off after his BS coaching has made us a joke. After he is toast he turns it loose. I hate that he is still allowed to coach for us.

This is absurd. Gruden is not coming here. We went through this 5 years ago and people are falling for it all over again.

It's fine to enjoy the Grumors because it's good drama, but I fear a lot of people are going to take it way too seriously and end up being resentful of whoever we hire.

It does not matter who we hire. There will be plenty who will ***** because they wanted someone else. We do need a hire to unify the fanbase, though most hires will likely do that.

They said they saw/met him at a Titans game and shared info.

They pretty much endorsed him.

They were both posting during the Titan's game, DTO and the EB dude. They were posting pics from the stadium and noticed they were fairly close. DTO told him where exactly he was. EB met him and DTO told him what he knew. Then they parted ways. EB claimed to have his own sources. He claimed the stuff he was busted for today was from his sources. I would hardly call DTO and Boro having endorsed him.

Thanks

Follow up question: how 100% sure are you that Gruden will definitely be UT's head coach next year? Are you super duper sure, or just like really, really sure?

I wasn't in the Sequoyah Room last Friday, don't know any Gruden cousins, have not been to Dollywood and haven't ventured into the FF in quite some time, so I'm very, very, very, very not sure at all.

They didn't really endorse him. They shared what they knew privately. Definitely a blow to them though.

It was a blow to all 3. Endorse might not be the right word, but they had all 3 been backing each other up saying what they were hearing is lining up together.

Sometimes change only comes when the pain of remaining the same is worse than the pain of changing.

I personally hope he learns and is successful elsewhere. Just hate that his learning curve has not turned the corner at Tennessee

You guys are being masterfully punk'd. You realize that, right?

I do get that feeling, too. But, for some reason, when it does not happen, I think that most of us will be ok with it because it was a lot of fun while it lasted.

That's exactly the way I see it.
