I've said all along that the timing is very different this time around.

I'll let this out....I've been told that Gruden has expressed being tired of the political slant of ESPN and the NFL "kneeling" controversy. Couple that with ESPN's efforts at budget cutting...it's only a matter of time that his contract comes under scrutiny.

Those issues, along with a new more compliant UT Administration, and Manning's handling of the boosters issues....it's a new day.

I brought this up early this week. I think it was to show respect to Butch IN CASE he ever took the job. Imagine him taking the job and a month prior he was on the sidelines wearing UT gear, while Butch was still the head coach? It's not a good look. It's also disrespectful to the current head coach, whom by all indications, Gruden has a pretty good relationship with.

I took him trying to blend in as a very good sign.

Wouldn’t he blend in better actually wearing UT gear?

Just another perspective on what “the” big hire would mean...I have said before I’m a Vol fan in Dawg country...they all know butch is gone...but seem to get very nervous when Gruden is mentioned as a possibility. So if nothing else this is making Dawg fans uncomfortable lol
