One thing that doesn’t exactly add up regarding 2012 that I am having difficulty reconciling. The “backstory” is that boosters and power players had it set up for Gruden but Hart submarined the deal. If that is accurate, how did Hart last 3 years after essentially corrupting what the power brokers set up? Maybe someone can give me a better perspective...

I have actually heard two sides of the story...
1. Gruden wanted the job and it was botched by Hart
2. Gruden never really wanted the job and simply lead the boosters on... then later apologized

Have no idea which is true, both scenarios came from good sources .... My guess, some truth in both stories

After watching UT football the last X number of years, I would not have guessed. I thought their job was to turn purple and yell. And consult charts.

Can someone please answer me as to why on God's green Earth anybody thinks Gruden will actually make it as Vols coach? He has been out of the college game for 30 years, never was a recruiter or head coach in college, and yet we would have to pay this guy well over 7 million a year to pry him away from ESPN?

No telling. Neither side is going to say anything that makes the other or themselves look bad. Wonder why Dave Hart isn't here? I've heard two things, Donnie Tyndall and interaction with multiple boosters.

Too much actual smoke, not just Grumors, for #2 to be right. It was #1, no doubt.

I've long told my husband that my enjoyment of life and satisfaction in my marriage would be significantly diminished if he wasn't a TN fan. I honestly can't imagine the circumstances where I ever would have dated an AL alum much less married one.

I was already roped in when he dropped the awful Bama bomb on me. He?s a good one and easily the best thing that ever came out of that school. We make it work.
