Injury Update Thread

I thought we had it bad. USC, Ohio Bobcats, others are in worse shape than we are. USCe is down three OL and others. Maybe we can squeak out a win at home this Saturday. Sure would be some good medicine.

Don't forget Fla has the illness bug really bad - lackaethicitis is endemic there.

Just curious what y'all think about the big discrepancy in these 2 current injury reports? Could that be called taking care of players?

Yes and no. I believe both programs "take care of players". If you look at the NCAA weekly injury report, we are not the most injured football team, but close. There may be something to the "soft" comment by some analysts.

Niehaus was also in street clothes for SC. I never saw him on injury report.
It's getting absurd again.
Austin Smith still MIA, and players getting injured without ever playing.

You can bring players in and beef them up so they have more momentum in impacts; you can build muscle so they can run faster, start quicker, move laterally quicker, jump higher, etc. At the end they are still pretty much running on the stock chassis, and stressing it far more.

Thanks, that's what I needed!

Did Butch say anything about Niehaus or anyone else?

He said Jakob Johnson will play, Evan Berry and Deandre Johnson are questionable and Cheyenne is out for the year. Said CFA is questionable. Taylor is still suspended.

Justin Martin practiced and could play.

Thanks, Freak, OP updated with all that.

Carl Pickens seems to think Jack Jones belongs on this list.

Lotta chatter about a shoulder problem, but apparently not so bad he couldn't play this Saturday if needed. Maybe looking at surgery after the season is over. Then again, so far this is all just rumors.

Guys who were banged up during the Bama game:
  • Jashon Robertson (OL, Sr) (undisclosed)
  • Brett Kendrick (OL, R-Sr) (undisclosed)
  • Trey Smith (OL, Fr) (foot/ankle?)
  • Micah Abernathy (DB, Jr) (lower body)
  • Shaq Wiggins (DB, Sr) (wrist re-aggravated?)
Don't know if any of those are significant. Trey Smith was back in the game the entire 2nd half. So all the above may just be bumps and bruises. We'll see how the coming week shakes out for them.
