Gotta love the interwebs. One person can speculate that a coach campaigned for a job and it becomes fact and repeated for years.

Remember being really puzzled by the Florida rebuff. Seemed tailor made to replace Urban.

Can’t. Haven’t really been able to confirm it’s accuracy.

But I also don’t really think Gruden will coach here next year.

Do they go after him. Yes. Do they make a legit run. I think so.

Does he say yes. I don’t think so. I think he has interest and loves the attention.

For me, I would hire and name Frost my head coach next week.

And call it a day.

I kind of feel the same about Gruden too. I think they'll pursue as hard as possible. IN the end I think he turns us down. I think Peyton is the wild card here. I think Gruden respects the heck out of Peyton and won't lead him on for publicity or for the attention. I could be wrong.

Reading some of the comments in the FF, they actually believe Gruden is going to be the next coach at TN.

Feel sorry for them fellas.

This season has actually done some good for me. I haven't watched the Vols play since the UF game. Just so fed up with the coaching malpractice that is going on I will not watch another game this season. I keep up with them through Twitter and this board. I use to get so worked up over a loss that it would ruin my weekend and spill over to the next week.

I just don't let it affect me like that anymore...I don't know if I'm just numb to it all now, but I spend time with my family instead of watching the games. Definitely less stressed out.

Get a grip man. You live in Southknox, and you won't even watch the games?

I drive four hours every Saturday the Vols are home to see them play and enjoy a weekend in Knoxville.

Sure it's disappointing, maddening, etc., but it's football man. There is nothing better than watching the boys run through the T from Neyland stadium. Even on a bad day, or a hot day, or on a day when Butch leads them out.

We wait, and talk, and dream all year for just a couple handfuls of Saturdays to get here. Don't wish them away.

Watch the young players, they are the future. Watch JG, watch Trey Smith, watch Ty Chandler and Quarte Sapp.

Following Vol football is still the most fun you can have with your pants on. Even during seasons like this that are painful.

I think Frost would leave unless he somehow made the playoffs. Some coaches leave at the end of the regular season, some don't. Urban Meyer stayed at Utah through the Fiesta Bowl before going to Gainesville, but Brian Kelly left Cincinnati for Notre Dame despite making the Sugar Bowl.

I think that early signing period may change that.

This is a serious question. Why is the only place that I see Frost as a legitimate contender volnation. Don't get me wrong I'm on the Frosted train but I just want to know why this is the only place I see it

A lot of people just automatically assume he's going to Nebraska.

Basically they're going to make a hire with a week or so left in the regular season. The problem is they're going to have to tell Butch (and the interim) they can't use any official visits because they'll have to save them to let the new coach blitz the three or four weekends in December before signing day.

This only works of the new coach is not a currently active coach.

exact same thing for me man......

i just dont even care that much anymore. Its kinda sad bc i love the Vols but its just gotten so old and its always disappointing. Just really tired of it.

If I'm Butch I do everything I can to beat bama. Beat them. Then resign on Monday with a big middle finger in the air

Better than 50% chance Frost is our coach next year?

SBV was it you that said you thought Currie had contacted Frost? I'm just hoping if we are pursuing Gruden and he isn't interested, that he makes it clear so we can move on,especially with the early signing period.

He protected his teammate unlike his teammate's suppose uncle. Greesey or whatever, just quit posting things that reflect badly on BJ. He's a good kid and I saw his body language after the miss that was in front of me with Callaway coming over and putting his arm around him like a good teammate. I do believe BJ was devastated and today would tell you he should've caught it and is still mad he did not. He did not lose the game with that one play nor did JG. We lost due to many things and we win and lose as a team regardless of who the QB is. BJ will do great things and I hope he has not forgot it and moved on just like a pitcher who gives up a homer. Will still cheer for him and the Vols and glad he is a VFL. It would have been a great catch but now just go out and get the next one.

Excellent post

I am curious how much of the Frost would leave UT for Nebraska is fact vs assumption. UT is a significantly better job than Nebraska today. It ain't the early 1990's. He played there, ok. That does not mean he would automatically choose to coach there over all other jobs.

He was born in Nebraska and went to and played at Nebraska and was also a GA there. It'll be a tough pull.
