When you're already a multi-millionaire, everyone thinks you're a football genius, you've got a SB ring on your finger and you've got a cushy job which takes you all expenses paid around the nation every year.......

.....why in the h3ll would you move to Knoxville, deal with 19-21 year-olds primadonnas, have to compete with Saban's machine (and Smart's upcoming machine), deal with all the fanatics in Vol-land....?

Yea, he did very well in Oakland. I know it was more of Davis than Gruden on why he went to Tampa. I just wish he would of won his SB with Oakland. The team he built up to get to that level, if he won there then nobody could say that he went to Tampa and won with someone else's players. He still got the ring any way so it doesn't matter it just would of been better to win with the team he built.

I never start threads, I just wanted to see what everyone thought about this. And I'm not trying to hate on Gruden, I think he is a good coach, I just don't know if he is as good as people make him out to be. Also I do not think we have a shot at getting him to Knoxville other than when he comes to visit his kid.

What you fail to recognize is the team he played in the superbowl was the Raiders team that he built.

Gruden would clean up in recruiting. He would be a national media darling. He would be able to assemble an impressive staff. Honestly, i think gruden is the next Madden and will likely never coach again.

I agree and have made the same points here before. But don't expect to make any headway with the Grudenites. It's like a cult at this point.
