I'm guessing but he's not setting himself up for disappointment.(Been there, done it). If things happen for the better, he'll be doing backflips with the rest of us.

I tend to agree with him, though. The Tennessee thing is to end up with Mike Bobo when everyone is yelling Gruden.

I don't think Gruden happens either. Maybe 1% chance imo, and the rumors now are the same as the ones in 2012. BUT, it doesn't bother me if someone wants to be optimistic about it and I don't concern myself with trying to "protect" others on here from disappointment. Everyone can believe what they want to believe.

Nick has already addressed this though.

Agreed.

I hopped on the outrage bandwagon at the time over not going for Blackburn, but it seems now that he wasn’t as much of a no brainer as he was made out to be.

And we have Fulmer working in the AD again as well. Only time will tell, of course, but I don’t think the AD hire went as badly as we all thought at the time.

David pizzed the wrong people off. UTC still part of the University system.

Am I the only one that's ok with the AD being quirky and a little cloak and dagger about all of this?

I'm at 10% on Gruden and working on it.

No. It's just how he works. He makes a show of being open and transparent, while being the opposite. He's not putting anything out there and he's not going to. If he says anything, it's going to be a lot of nothing.

I normally don’t have any kind of sources.. but I’ve got some interactions scheduled today with someone related to a current player. Will see what I can find out.

Personally, I'd rather we shoot for the moon and maybe miss, rather than settling for another "safe" hire who we have to replace in another 5 years. That's just me though.

Exactly how the baseball search went. He had everyone basically just making up names.

I totally cool with it. As long as he doesn't trot out a work horse and try to tell us its a show pony......

If your interactions are scheduled to take place at a gas station, there's little doubt you are our man.

Ok I'll admitt I really really WANT Gruden. But what I NEED to hear when the dust settles is that Currie made a good run at Gruden even if we don't get him. That will tell me he's fishing in deeper waters and on a better boat then we are used to lately. I will take that as a sign that the AD and Boosters are on the same page and willing to make a splash hire.
