Hypothetical thought question:

If we could beat Bama this week but we would have to keep CBJ next year would you take that?

I'm thinking I would take that all day. Any win against Bama is worth it. And given how bad we are it would probably cost Bama a playoff run if there are a bunch of teams with one loss. If UGA makes it through the season unscathed and loses to Bama in the SECCG I would think UGA would have to go instead of Bama because of the better resume.

Not happening, I know. But curious as to what the board thinks.

I'll organize a parade for Butch if he can pull that off this weekend.

BakedZiti coming in with the "everyone is an idiot but me" argument! I'm stunned!

Not saying you are an idiot.

I'm just saying you are connecting dots that aren't there in my opinion. That doesn't mean that we won't target Frost or that we aren't gonna fire Butch.

It's a stretch.

Go on about your day there snowflake.

My biggest concern isn’t whether or not we’ll go for a big hire. I’m confident we will. I’m more worried about options 2-4. Not likely we score with #1 (most teams don’t). Just can’t fall too far from the initial target, whoever that may be.

Pete tweeted before that article came out (so I assume while he was writing it) that Scott Frost is going to get better job offers than Nebraska.

It's clear Pete has a good relationship with Currie and we are targeting Frost as a possible hire.

We can only hope. If he had his pick between Nebraska and Tennessee I wonder if really would pick Tennessee.

Maybe I can see more dots than you. 👀

JMO. CBJ's pending departure is a forgone conclusion at this point. The only remaining question is timing. I suspect that if Currie determines that an interim HC gives UT a better chance to win 2+ of the remaining games after Alabama, Jones will be gone sooner than later. UT does not want to give up that shared record with tOSU.

Was just over in the FF. They're expecting Gruden to take over. Some talk of him riding into Tuscaloosa and Bryant Denny next week on a unicorn. TIFIW

It's a much better job, the pay is better, and it is arguably an easier place to succeed.

But Nebraska is home for him, where he played, and where he led them as a player to their most recent national championship. If his heart is what drives Frost, then he will end up there. If not, Tennessee has as good of a chance as any to get him.

Kinda devolved out of nothing. You commented that we all have bad thoughts, I made a gif reply, you made another supporting statement, I threw a comment away about hoping you come back to us, you called me an azzhat and dared me to put you on ignore and I made an azzhat comeback. I thank you for your apology even tho it’s not necessary and I forgive you. :huggy:

👍 but no hugs. We are VOLS not Gaming cocks or tea bagging Bammers

If you want to really enjoy watching a tough football player. Go you tube some of his games. The guy was tough as nails. You could knock the piss out of him and he would just get up smiling with that same grin.

I have no idea if he would do well at UT or not, I can say I'm sure his team would resemble the toughness he played with

Yes! No question about it

There just aren't that many big hires available, and a lot of the top names are going to consider factors other than money. And there could be other deep pocket programs in the market, making it even more competitive.

IMO, some programs that appeared ready to make a move will decide to hang on to their coaches another year. Under different circumstances, UT probably would have preferred to wait, too.
