Official Jon Gruden Thread XVIII

If we do end up hiring Gruden then in my opinion it won't end well.

Everyone who wants the guy can't give a legitimate football reason to hire him. It's always he is a VFL!, He is married to a former Vol Cheerleader!, He has property here!

They seem to overlook that he hasn't coached at all in 10 years. Has never coached on the collegiate level. Was only a better than average NFL head coach and has a career record of (95-81) and a post season record of (5-4).

If you took that record (95-81) (5-4) without any name attached to it there is no way anyone would seriously consider/want them to be the next coach of the Vols.

This is the last time I respond to a poster too lazy to dig deeper into the facts about Gruden and his coaching career.

First, Gruden built the team from the floor up that he beat in the Superbowl. Which means he took another team and beat his.

Ain't that the definition of what everyone says a great coach is? He will beat you with his, then take yours and beat you with them too?

The salary cap situation a Tampa was a trainwreck when he got there and NEVER got better the whole time he coached there.

He did use a lot of players Dungy had in place but he also brought in a couple of key free agents.

The Bucs had never won a playoff game under Dungy. Not one. Their offense was terrible.

Gruden increased their points scored in playoff games by over 10 points. Can't remember the exact number off the top of my head. He took the WORST playoff team and turned them into champions with his offense.

The man has an eye for talent, he is driven, he wants to be the best at whatever he does. Whether it's in the booth at MNF, coaching in the NFL, or running his QB camps. That won't change if he becomes our coach.

Now if all you care to do is Google his record and regurgitate the same old crap as every other troll then the exit is 3rd door down on the left.

Don't let it hit ya where the good lord split ya.

Ok so apparently the lawyers on both sides have to work out the buyout money situation first for butch and staff..

Im also being told, dont be surprised to see fulmer one last time on the sidelines :) im so happy about that

I'll bet you my entire savings account ($33,465) that Fulmer is not going to be the interim coach.

People are literally talking about all sorts of things. While the main point is about Gruden, right behind that is it’s a fun thread to talk and share. Jmo
