I just can't see gruden. Nothing about it makes sense

I'm still gonna follow all those grumers on the edge of my damn seat though

I don't think this offense does anything to help these QBs. I know you think it's fine but I've not been a fan.

I’m not a fan of this offense at all. I just think this is butch is offense no matter the coordinator. The only thing that changes is formations.

We could do much much worse that Brohm

That's not a ringing endorsement. We could have done worse than Butch and have.

This program has to have a proven coach. Not one we kinda think or hope will win.

I think he's going to be a good coach but we are at a huge crossroads and can't afford to gamble.

There a a lot of things you can say about gruden... and lots of reasons he won’t come here... but saying “he only won a single Super Bowl” to prove a point is hilarious

Ok, sorry I thought you thought it was just players not executing was the reason it wasn't working. I agree, it's Butch's gun, these other guys are just pulling the trigger.

I think kelly has to be the number one.

I get the reluctance to embrace him, but damn if the guy doesent fit the mold.

And he's just sitting there waiting to be called.

Almost too good to be true.

From the Gruden thread....

I got the go ahead to share some information that I started to tell last night. It's solid info from a close friend.

As I said last night, Butch will be the coach against Alabama. From what I have been told, the GOAL people close to the situation is to have a replacement in place when Butch is fired. They hope to have this completed by the time we play LSU. Based on this, and this part is a guess, I expect Butch to be followed on either the Sunday or Monday following the LSU game, presuming we lose.

I was told that Gruden will undoubtedly be offered the heading coaching position at Tennessee if they receive enough interest after gauging him through back channels and the decision to go after Gruden first is "as close to unanimous as it gets". None of these things are ever completely unanimous. UT will also do their due dillegence and gauge the interest of other coaches in case they can not land Gruden. Either way, they seem determined to have someone in place immediately following the end of the regular season. My source has no idea who they'll pursue in addition to Gruden but says there are three names being floated around that it definitely won't be (Kelly, Stoops, Miles).

Now for some semi-bad news, he did say he believes that them making a very attractive offer to Gruden doesn't mean that they'll definitely go after high dollar guys after him. In truth, he really has no idea whether or not the hire will be a good one if it is not Gruden.

This is pretty much all common knowledge at this point, nothing too groundbreaking, but he isn't as in the know as he once was and isn't as concerned about me sharing things because of it.

I don't think Gruden is some superhuman coach, but he would school pretty much everyone in the SEC regularly in terms of Xs and Os. Doesn't mean he would win every game. But his football acumen laps everyone else in the conference, and I imagine his assistants would be significantly better than we are used to. Imagine the best of Kiffin and Dooley's (early) staffs and that's about the caliber he'd have, IMO.

Him coaching in the East would be like sending Doc Rivers to coach in the Sun Belt or something.

I think recruiting would be off the charts too. If he will come it's a no brainer imo.

I believe it’s both. There’s teams running a even more vanilla scheme than us that are producing.

Who in the heck said "He only won one Super Bowl" to prove a point? That is a oversimplification of Wickmans argument. That is not what he is saying at all. He is saying Grudens SB win is not proof that he is a great coach.

Ummmm YOU said "he only won one Super Bowl with Dungys team". I presume you said it to prove a point?
