Watching Hubbs' show this morning. He doesn't think TN has enough offense to beat anyone left of the schedule.

We've broken or established embarrassing records all over the place during the past decade. An 8+ loss season seems about right for this program in 2017.

There were signs this was coming three years ago. Avoiding it hinged on Butch's ability to grow and change - not a solid bet.

I'm impressed by people's ability to suspend belief as long as they had.

We miss DeBord more than any of us realize. He ran Butches offense well and Butch trusted him. Dobbs was definitely a big factor in that and we miss him badly, but the transition to this year without Dobbs probably would have been much smoother with Debord.

If butch would step aside and let Scott call the game....

The run game works at the beginning of the game, but then they don't use the passing game afterwards (even if the WRs refuse to get open). Oh and JG was also staring down the receivers, but that doesn't matter with these WRs

Oh come on now...

He said TN really has nothing to hang their hats on offensively. Rick Russo said defense wins championships and Hubbs said you have to have a little offense though. He said if you hold your opponent to 15 points and still don't win that's very telling. Said that you'll not win any games scoring 10 points. That includes southern miss.

I don't think I buy the big Jim stuff. I do, however, believe (just from reading, not from any inside info, as I have none) the boosters at Tennessee are splintered in their opinions on almost everything.

Almost goes hand-in-hand. If the boosters are splintered in opinion, wouldn't Big Jim get his way?

I'm going to stream of consciousness type out all the red flags from his hire date to now:

1. Drae Bowles situation

2. The Mack Crowder punch

3. Taking 12 WRs every class.

4. The Jalen Hurd fiasco

5. "Don't believe in halftime adjustments"

6. Various clock management issues

7. Taking weirdo timeouts when the opposing offense is about to get a delay of game

8. Orlando Brown recruitment

9. Champions of life

10. 5* hearts

11. Leadership reps

12. So many transfers

13. Starting Worley over Dobbs and Peterman for so long

14. No QB coach for 2 seasons

15. Hiring an OC with zero experience calling plays in college

16. Hiring an OC who was previously cleaning pools (this actually worked out but could it have been even better?)

17. Saying "ah f--- em" about the fans in a game

18. "Some of the best teams we've had around here in 20 years"

Any more I'm forgetting? There are hundreds of in-game decisions I could add.

Don't forget not having 7 on 7s during summer for 4 years

No S&C coach last year, resulting in weak & injured players. Letting the players run the asylum. 2016 should have been a special year.

2015 should have been the year. That team was should have beat Oklahoma (who went to the playoff), Florida (won the east because we let callaway clown us), and they went into Tuscaloosa and were winning in the 4th quarter. Minimum that was an 11-1 team

Yep, the Florida game turned me. I believe it’s a whole lot harder to get past 8-9 wins than people think. 10 wins a season year in and year doesn’t exist except for very few places. Tennessee is one IF you have the right guy. But the RIGHT guy is all about timing of the transition. I think the time is right.. but it took the Florida game for me to get there.

But has squandered so many big win opportunities. We all rooted for him so much. We wanted to believe so bad. And just when we would finally get there.. loss to Vandy. Blown 14 point lead.

Anyway.. everyone knows the story.

The silence is crazy. It must be how Currie operates.. which I like. Just not what we’re used to, and none of us are sure whether to trust that things are being done right or not.. because we’re not used to that either.

Yeah. I was at the Oklahoma game. I was convinced and told everyone who would listen that was the game where we would show the world we were back. It was the loudest I have ever heard Neyland. The environment was unreal.

And then Butch coached scared the second half, played Jumper too much, and frittered away glory. I thought at the time maybe it was our depth. But looking back, I see it was the coaching.

I don’t expect UT ever to have a run like Bama. But I think we can still win SEC titles from time to time.

Yes or No

Will the Vols score an offensive touchdown in October? Haven't so far and doubt they will against red team. Comes down to the UK game and the offense I saw yesterday leads me to believe it is highly doubtful.
