UGA is good this year. Legit SEC good. Top 10 in the nation good, and without media bias. Many of us believe with good coaching we could win, and vegas odds say we aren't too crazy.

I am ready to fire Butch if he doesn't beat a top ten team at home, and so are many of you....

Now think back and ask yourself if that isn't a big damn step from where we were in the last 10 years.

We can compete. We expect to win. We are pissed at Butch because he gave us belief we deserve more, and the talent to feel entitiled to it.

Win or lose Saturday I embrace the future because we are finally turning the corner.

No, we are pissed at Butch because he has recruited at a pace similar to those at the top of this league but has delivered middle of the road results in conference.

Big difference from your scenario

I wholeheartedly agree....IF, and it's a big if, we don't squander the opportunity to potentially upgrade. Waiting until we wither on the vine as a program again is more than I can stand.

So you are pissed he has stocked the cupboard for his wins or his replacements? Sorry dude but i'll take the glass half full. You can have Sumlin and Bielema.

If Butch can't get it done and we make the right hire, we can immediately be in contention not just for the East but for the SEC title with this roster. It's been a long time since that has happened, last time was the Majors-Fulmer transition.

The only problem is that we started to turn the corner and now we're doing a u-turn. The program was being restored and we were becoming nationally relevant again, but lately we have hit a plateau with Butch. Heck I'd say we have regressed. And it's becoming more and more apparent that it is due to poor coaching. Let's hope we can break through it and finally take the next step in the right direction for our program.

Who says he's going anywhere? If he is fired do you believe based on who is calling the shots we are going to hire anything but another might hit guy on the cheap?

Sorry if the last 7 or 8 years have turned me into a skeptic, I'm sure you could forgive me under the circumstances.

Butch certainly got Tennessee to turn the corner.....I'm just not sure he knows where to go now.

All Tennessee fans Owe Butch a lot of thanks. He helped get the Program out of the dumpster fire....and I certainly am very grateful. It is very nice watching Tennessee play and expecting to win. I do however think it would be better for his career and for Tennessee for him to move on.

Heck I'm no psychic, maybe he can move Tennessee to the next level.....really I hope he can and I hope I'm wrong. I would love to see Tennessee win 10 game this year (even 8 or 9 would be ok right about now). Until I see it....Ill still feel this way.

I also agree with the poster......we all got to feel pretty good, compared to 08-13.

Thank you. I would contend Butch is as good as Majors was minus the affiliation to the program or collegiate performance. He is far from the succubus on this program many would have you believe. We are a PROGRAM and each person plays a part. If Butch's is to get us to phase ii only then so be it.

Georgia did what Vol fans, wish UT would do, go out and get their coach, Georgia got rid of Mark Richt, a much better coach than Butch Jones, to get "their" coach

I wouldn't go that far. Majors has 3 SEC championship rings.

But we stopped saying "we can't compete against top 10 UGA" or "just look what they did to Miss St". This is not a U Turn it is the on ramp for SEC contention. Butch will either hit the blinker and merge or the program will substiture the driver. Either way this bus is ready to roll.

Saturday's game with Georgia will show where the Vols are, good, bad or indifferent.....and quite possibly the direction

Amen. This is a HUGE moment for this program after the past 10yrs of us stumbling around in the darkness and 20yrs of winning nothing of relevance. Our leadership has literally done EVERYTHING wrong and not just with football but the entire athletic department. They need to check their egos at the door and do whatever is needed to get it right this time because like you I am confident if they screw up what is a great opportunity then it will cement TN as nothing more than mediocre for the foreseeable future.

Fair points. We are definitely in a much better place than after Dooley. But in the last nine seasons we are 0-24 against top 10 opponents. Let's hope we can break into the win column this weekend.

Don't insult a hof football coach who has won a NC, developed a Heisman winner, beat Bear Bryant, and won multiple conference championships like this.
