I'm saying 17 of 24 is better than 18 of 26. Which is a fact. You can't compare total Wins when total games isn't equal.

And I would argue that the '00 season was better than last year too.

The last 2 years were literally middle of the pack. Butch was dead wrong.

He wants the fan base to be content with winning 8 or 9 a year. The coaches who are are truly confident in their abilities don't continuously say the things he says.

Not middle of the pack. There has been 20 measurable two year time periods in the last 20 years and Butches last two years have been 6th of this 20.

Like I said the fact he has won more games in the last 2 years than Fulmer won in the two years after the National title is hard to believe. It's almost as if we forget we lost some big games during that timeframe.

Statistically Dobbs was as good as Watson. He ran the ball much better than Watson last year. And in terms of passing efficiency he was just as good as Watson. Clemson just threw the ball a lot more than Tennessee which is why Watson's passing totals were higher than Dobbs. But on a per pass basis Dobbs was more efficient.

The only real gap between the two teams in terms of talent was the offensive line. And even that could be attributed to poor coaching cause the o-line is the position that needs to most continuity together to be successful. And we had a staff that was constantly shifting guys around.

Dobbs was great but he wasn’t Watson. Watson threw for 14 more tds while throwing 5 less picks. Dobbs as great as he was he sometimes was a turnover machine and usually it was at the worst times, i.e. Vandy, Texas am, and usc. 17 picks 10 fumbles 4 lost. If Watson didn’t have 12 picks he would have won the heisman.

I've picked 17-14 Vols. But the more I think about we are going to need our receivers to show up to get the win so there may need to be more points. Am thinking we've got to see the D Line and the WR's show out to win. Special teams is a given.

There were only 11 regular season games back then. We went 9-2 in 99 which would be the equivalent of 10-2 today. 8-3 in 2000 would be the equivalent of 9-3 today. Both of those seasons were better than last two seasons with Butch.

That doesn't sound very confident:

And I'll also say if you tell me right now that we will get the game to the 4th quarter with a chance to win, I'll take it, because I see that this game may be over in the 4th quarter.

I think we can. If we stop their run game I think our d can force Fromm to make some mistakes. We did a pretty good job shutting Florida’s down in Gainesville especially in the red zone it was more bend don’t break style. Question is what will our offense do?
