Trump is a child

Out of curiosity, I looked up flag etiquette. I found this rule informative:

The flag should never be used for any advertising purpose. It should not be embroidered, printed or otherwise impressed on such articles as cushions, handkerchiefs, napkins, boxes, or anything intended to be discarded after temporary use.

Everybody is getting played in this situation. Trump is using this to give his base some red meat, liberals are using it to give their base another point to freak out over. Our politics have become absurd.

Free speech should be protected no matter how much it pisses people off. Nothing is more important to our system.

I really don't care what anyone does during the national anthem. But if you decide to sit or kneel, don't be surprised/pissed if you receive backlash. I don't care what Trump says at a rally in Alabama to a bunch of Gumps, but don't be surprised/pissed if you receive backlash for calling people sob's.

The whole situation is insane.

There are a lot people who are "proud" of the flag and do inappropriate things with it.

This has nothing to do with anything I am talking about. You're saying blacks are more violent and stupid so the war on drugs should just keep on going the way it is? My point isn't about violent criminals, it's about non-violent criminals (for the tenth time, FFS).

So did you make up your fact about the Cops creator or what?

Read the article smart guy.

It's really kind of creepy how it's such a religious symbol of state- worship. It's not quite as creepy as the pledge of allegiance though.

Millionaire black athletes protesting injustice in the country that made them millionaires. That's interesting. Kneeling during the national anthem disrespecting a country that allows them to live in better neighborhoods and send their children to better schools. That's interesting. Let those soldiers at Arlington and the other graves of men and women who died for this country know how much they're appreciated.

Funny thing is I they probably dont realize they all are wearing the flag on their helmets...

The NFL supports "free speech" by allowing flag protests, but they'll penalize you for celebrating a touchdown

Remember they also fined D'Angelo Williams repeatedly for wearing a pink in honor of his late mothers fight with cancer

Rudy gay fined for wearing purple to raise awareness for domestic violence (same thing the NFL tries to brush under the rug)

Freedom of expression my ass

Putting aside Trump's comments on the situation, I just don't understand these so-called protests. What does kneeling during the National Anthem accomplish other than showing disrespect for the country itself? Yes, our country is beset by many problems, but instead of showing disrespect, why don't players and owners come together and act rather than do nothing but show contempt? It's counter-productive and accomplishes nothing. Has this kneeling actually accomplished anything other than create even more divisiveness? The conversation it's created isn't about what they are supposedly protesting, it's all about what they're are doing, which many Americans find insulting.

I think letting people do as they please during the National Anthem without making it a big deal is the only solution. The alternative will be to eliminate the playing of the anthem all together.

People are able to do what they please. It’s a show of respect. Of course, you’re not a respectable man so of course you don’t understand.

Or forcing everyone to stand whether they like it or not.

Judging by some of the stuff I've seen you post, you wouldn't mind if the US became a communist country so that idea should be right up your alley.

“How about the irony of, ‘Free speech is fine if you’re a neo-Nazi chanting hate slogans, but free speech is not allowed to kneel in protest?'” Kerr added. “No matter how many times a football player says, ‘I honor our military, but I’m protesting police brutality and racial inequality,’ it doesn’t matter. Nationalists are saying, ‘You’re disrespecting our flag.’ Well, you know what else is disrespectful to our flag? Racism. And one’s way worse than the other.”

Free speech also includes those who express the opinion that they disagree with the anthem sitters and find that behavior disrespectful.

I agree with this. I have a bandana that is not a flag, but the stars and stripes and I have a really hard time wearing it. Actually, I don't think I have worn it in years. Now a guy that fought in Vietnam or Afghanistan, they earned the right to wear whatever they want.

And even though I was in the military, I don't feel like a 'veteran' because I didn't get shot at.

But that's just me

We've seen "Make them stand!" from the president. Have you seen any protestors saying someone should make everyone kneel?

The players are throwing tantrums. That’s what you’re too naive to understand.

Also, if they’re just protesting the police and alleged racial inequality then there is no reason to disrespect the entire country. You idiots are hilarious. Dance for me, keep me entertained!

Kneeling in silence is a "tantrum," that's fun. I'd love to see what you would say about MLK
