"Fix the mistakes"

The mistake is Butch Jones. The way to fix it is bring "T" Martin home!!!!

We all know recruiting is so important here. Maybe he would be awesome. However Tee didn't even get his high profile son to his high profile school he is coaching at. That's unusual. Unless they have a terrible relationship most kids play for their dad.

It's ok we have basketball to look forward to...wait nevermind.

Women's basketball....um...nope...

Baseball.....crap....

Softball...that's it, we have SOFTBALL to look forward to. We are a softball school now.

Do we still have a bowling team?

I do think Barnes is a good coach but I can't name another good coach at UT at this moment in time, even he is past his prime.

Ralph and Karen Weekly (softball) are the best as far as results right now, and since he hasn't coached a game yet, we can't really judge Tony Vitello (baseball) yet.

I can only speak for myself. At this point, I am almost watching games without regard to the score. I am dead serious here.

I am watching them and asking is this the way it's supposed to look. Is this good football?

Year 1. Pass. It's year 1.
Year 2. Pass. You are just starting to get your guys.
Year 3. No Pass. I'm not unreasonable. I'm not expecting championship at this point. But, I think I and most of Gator nation have had it with the lack of improvement offensively.

We are not upset that we don't have an offense that looks like Spurrier's. People are upset that they don't have an offense better than 100+ in the country.

And my take is, if you are a good coach, then there should be some noticeable improvement.

There isn't any.

And so, for me, that Tennesee game had very little enjoyment. We won. But, so what? where's the program heading? Is progress being made?

I don't see it. I see better athletes on the offensive side of the ball. But, I don't see a better offense.

Like any fan, I am holding out hope that they get better as the year goes along. 1st year starting QB. yada, yada, yada.

But, I've lost faith. I don't believe anymore.

I would love to see something that changes my mind.

So you're pretty much where we are at.

Honestly, mistakes aren't just turnovers in the Butch Era. The field goal in the redzone vs OU in 2015, the long balls against our defense, the loss vs USC when we had 2 weeks to gameplan for it, and the loss vs Vandy.....

These are coaching and systematic mistakes.... Take it this way, Butch is set to surpass the 18 million dollar mark in terms of contract money in his 5 years. As of now, he has averaged 1.28 million dollars per SEC Win IN 5 YEARS!!!!

That is atrocious.
Looks like he's left a lot of money on the table then considering he hardly beats any SEC team.

Good, he doesn't deserve that money.

Oh, yeah. I should bump my prediction thread for the Florida-Tennessee game.

It's rare, but I was dead on accurate.

Basically, I said the loser would be carrying torches and pitchforks and the winner wouldn't feel all that much better.

Lol, you don't want him to feel unwelcome here right after telling him it was poor taste for him to point it out?

Who gives a s*** who points out the truth? And 99 is better than a ton of the mouth-breather window licker fans we have here. Eff the ones that have a problem with it.

Wow. Someone pissed in your cheerios. Lol

Hate to disappoint y'all, but, I don't believe Curry is going to do anything in the area of giving Butch Jones his "walking papers" anytime soon....maybe not even this year, unless Tennessee has another 4-8 season. I really don't believe that we are THAT bad! Actually, the only game we have absolutely NO chance of winning is the Alabama game....even if Alabama uses the third string the entire game! But, we have other dragons to slay between now and Alabama. It really doesn't matter to Alabama where the game is played because they are confident that they will beat us anywhere even if we lead for 3 and a half quarters of the game. Keep dreaming if you think CBJ is going anywhere away from UT!

I have seen a familiar theme from some people. “This is a good team. We’ve just got to clean up some of these mistakes”

This is off the top of my head. Keep in mind, I’m not a Vols fan here so I am sure many of you will be able to add to this.

Georgia 2015. Fumble on the 1 yard line, Georgia returns it 100 yards for a TD. That's a 14 point swing.

Florida 2016. 1st and goal from the 1 after a fumbled punt (because Florida suffers from the same kind of stupid). No points. Later with a 1st and goal from the Florida 3, Dobbs threw an interception in the endzone. And there were a slew of dropped passes in that 1st half. That’s 14 points.

Georgia 2016. Jalen Hurd fumbles on the 1 yard line (celebrating before he scored if I recall). Give up a 50 yard TD pass with 10 seconds left (not a Hail Mary). That’s 14 points.

Texas A&M 2016. 7 turnovers. Who knows how many points this prevented and/or put A&M in position to score.

There’s Florida 2017.

I know you can name things from other games and from other seasons. The point is pretty clear. This is not some sort of freak occurrence. It was not out of the ordinary. It’s what Tennessee does under Butch Jones.

For those of you who know what time it is, you know this is nothing new. But, I just wanted to point this out, because Tennessee has been giving points away to the opponent all on their own for a long time now.

We've had a lot of mistakes and failed opportunities. Remember I think it was 2015 UF when we had y'all 4th and 13 then after a million missed tackles, y'all take it all the way?

Inconsistent play is our problem.

It's like 121 takes turns goofing up. Bad throw, dropped pass, missed block, wrong route, false start, and all the other goof ups.

If CBJ can't get that fixed he will be gone sooner than later.

Please refrain from posting "Not soon enough.", we get it, some never wanted him. He is here so don't punish the players or yourself.

If you want to send a message, avoid pilot gas stations. That could get our billionaire's attention. Anything else will just be petty. Unless you can influence our billionaire some other way. As long as our billionaire is satisfied there will be no chance of change in personnel.

See ya at the Ga game.

Go Vols!

I think Tennessee has been one of the leaders in mistakes since Butch took over. Were one of the most mistake prone teams in football. He has feasted on non conference competition. 14 and 19 in the SEC and only 5 wins and 12 losses vs Bama, Florida, Georgia and Vandy.

I feel like it is poor taste for you to point this out. I don't disagree with your post. I don't want you to feel unwelcome here. Maybe it's just too soon for me.

Get used to it. That's his thing. He condescends to tell UT fans what they should think, feel, and deserve to expect.

Or maybe you're just a tad sensitive. You certainly seem to be triggered by him.

It generally started because I would post certain stuff about Florida and certain stuff about Tennessee.

And he got into this whole arrogance thing.

But, at the time Florida was really good. They won national championships.

I always said I called it like I saw it and said I would say nice things about Tennessee, but they've got to give me something to work with.

All these years later, Tennessee is still struggling to give me something to work with, but Florida has given me the opportunity to aim plenty of criticism there way.

I have done that which I think would give me some credibility.

I was here and stayed here after Tennessee beat Florida last season.

He believes that I don't think Tennessee should demand certain things of their program, which I have never said.

In fact, as everyone knows now, I think Butch should be gone because he isn't good enough.

If I thought nothing of Tennessee's program, I would say..."keep Butch, he's the best you could hope for".

I think it just stems from a great deal of hatred for Florida, which i totally understand.

Yep, I remember and that was a good call. If Tennessee had won, it would have only be a slightly better feeling considering the manner it would have been won.

You have valid points, but if I was a Florida fan I would be addressing my own coaches faults. Your coach is far from Lombardi, you all will have your hands full at Kentucky yourselves. GBO!!!!!
