I don't think Butch makes it past this year. Mainly because I think we finish the season no better than 7-5 which is unacceptable year 5

With just decent coaching we win by double digits. With decent QB play we win. With a good FG kicker we win. Without playing COVER TWO on the last play we send it into OT. I said it'd be close going into the game, I wasn't even 100% sold on winning. I'd have very little problem if we just straight up got out coached and out played, but we didn't.

Like I've said before. If JG doesn't start next week I'm done and I don't see us winning anything more than 7 maybe MAYBE 8 if we get lucky with Dormady.

If JG starts I'll be a bit more optimistic. But we all know it aint happening

Dang it! I should've sold the #theygonlearn t-shirts before the season started! Some of you suckers may have bought some. Now that we've learned, ain't nobody gonna buy nothing!

I've been hesitant to post this but it's been on my mind as a best case scenario for the game this. Get up big, I mean really big early so that CBJ has no choice other than to get JG in the game middle of the 2nd quarter. Would be a great opportunity for JG to get some OTJ training. Not saying JG is the guy, but could make the competition and the options moving forward more interesting.

No. We get up big next week and there is ZERO chance we see JG vs Uga. Only way we do is if: QD struggles next week, JG starts next week, QD gets hurt, QD SUCKS vs Uga. And by sucks, down 20 at half with 3 picks

VN used to be an amazing place for keeping up with the Vols. There used to be a ton of good posters that knew football who posted often. Remember when legit recruiting site people like Matt Prehm and JHop used to post? Far cry from where it was years ago.

I don't understand any person's reasoning for responding to posters like bruin. ever. It clutters the threads with useless arguments over rumors and minutiae details of how those rumors are worded or started, just so posters can argue they were technically right.

Posters like BB (whether he's right or wrong) get lambasted for opinions of players. His dislike of QD is constantly thrown at him instead of his angst towards Jumper. If you disagree with him, who cares, move on. You were hard-pressed to find many people who disapproved of QD after GT. What's changed from all of us MMQBs? There were many, many kinks in his armorin that game that, for some reason, people didn't care to gloss over.

Butch is the same now as he's always been. He is who he is. If you don't like redzone playcalling, I'm pretty sure you won't like it 5 games from now. Remember the 100 yd pick 6 at OU '14. How bout them 9 points against UF in '14. It's his MO - get used to it. With veterans, maybe players will make plays in those tough spots. Personnel decisions? It ain't getting fixed any time soon. Had true freshman Coleman Thomas not been physically unable to play and Butch forced to go back to no acl Jacob Gillam, we probably don't make bowl eligibility in '14. Now where's Coleman Thomas? I've saw many other personnel questions listed ad nauseam. Does anyone think if we had the ball with a minute left at home against Florida that we play to win? Absolutely not. Just like before half, without John Kelly giving his all on a draw play to run out the half (a la Jalen Hurd @ UGA '15) we don't get in FG range. We have a long distance place kicker, and a short distance kicker, and our short distance kicker handles kickoffs. We're still having kicking problems with a Senior, is that coaching?

People like Jay know football. Unfortunately, he doesn't post as often as he used or break down as detailed as he once did. But with the constant bickering and everyone having to be right, why would a person waste his/her time educating others who don't want to be educated and just argue?

Not expecting much the rest of the year. Butch has pulled out a few solid wins, and thankfully the rest of the SECE coaches are basket cases. We have enough talent to go 11-1, but, for me atleast, I still won't be sold on CBJ. I'm a VFL and hope the head man of my beloved Vols does well. I hope CBJ turns it around, pulls that list out from his back pocket he's talked about, and calls out who's on it. Crow would taste amazing! But in the meantime, Football is a game, don't let it ruin your weekend, and enjoy the few games we get a year- Even if it's focusing more on the friendships and time together than outcomes of games.

Palmer dropped a td also.3 missed field goals, 2 tds dropped, a turnover in the red zone, a pick 6 on a tipped pass. Even with bad offensive play calls, all of the bad plays listed and still in it to win. I wont give up, just need to execute better in the booth and on the field.

Yep. Coaching was an issue on first and goal from the 1. Not sure why Scott is getting a pass on that but other than that the game was lost by players making mistakes

I don't think Butch wants to make it past this year. I have zero inside info, but I think he and UT part ways mutually.

Hopefully we will play our best football moving forward. But man. I'm tired of it all. This program is so stale right now and needs new energy. Butch has fulfilled what he came here to do IMO.

I think the mismanaged the last minute myself. 10 yard line under a minute left down 3. Worst case scenario you manage the clock to tie the game with a fg as time expires. If they would have ran the ball 3 times and not scored then kicked a fg the fan base would *****. Still with how uf looked on defense the 4th i would have ran it 3 times then , heck a reverse to Chandler out of the slot would have been dirty imo

If JG doesn't start this week (which he won't), I just want to see us open the offense up. Let Q sling it around and hand the ball to our running backs to make plays. No more read option crap. Only run pass options the rest of the year. We aren't fooling anyone.
