I don't think anyone is saying JG is the savior just that QD isn't the guy...except maybe BB. If I have a junior that has terrible footwork and terrible decision making I play someone else with more talent.

Does that say more about QD or his coaches? The same coaches that coach JG. I just don't think JG offers more in the passing game, definitely in the running game.i just don't think JG offers enough positives to offset the negatives.

Still in shock over the steaming pile of manure that was our offensive playcalling yesterday. That was probably the worst called game I've ever seen as a Tenn fan, and I witnessed 3 years of Dooley ball. Unbelievable...

Waking up to pure internet gold I the FF this AM.

No need for a link; just open any thread and enjoy.

If you are a college QB and throw off your backfoot purposely you shouldn't have a scholarship. He didn't throw off his backfoot in HS. He was a pocket passer that looked good. Any sign of pressure and he compromises all footwork to not get hit.

I don't think he ever got this much pressure in high school. Seems like he has either not worked on dealing with it or when its game time forget all his training.

Red zone O was tough. The passes hit the receivers in the hands on 3 plays in the last opportunity. Jack Jones was gassed couldn't keep his balance signaling the center. And who wasn't thinking Kelly would get the ball. Lot's of tough lessons. I'm fairly convinced these didn't get past the coaches and the team. Go Vols!

He can run. Dormady will be broken into pieces 3rd Saturday in October

Powerful statement there.

No argument either

I watched JG produce versus IMG with pressure all game. That's why I liked him coming out. This pretty boy at QB is not with any of the rough stuff. It's football you will be hit.

You can't coach it...... He's got to be a MAN in the pocket or he can ride the pine. Heat him up and he loses it back there.

I'm not saying you coach it out of him but you def work on it over and over. You as a coach observe what he does. If he throws of the back foot you continue to throw it at him till he stops and you continue till his muscle memory changes. To me I believe he doesn't do it in practice but in the game loses it.

Still not sure about the last play. I never thought that would be a hail Mary. I think the D was set to stop a throw meant to get them in FG range. UF still had a time out. A hail Mary in that situation was the least likely of the two outcomes.

Start the young guy who doesn't do it and build around him. Let him grow with the skill players and build for next year.

SN: He does what he's supposed to do in practice but he's not a gamer and it's a problem.

Every call goes through his headset. If he felt so strongly we should have run it's on him that we didn't.

I agree. He should have overruled. He could have made a better OC hire, at least a more experienced candidate. But throwing under the bus would have been calling out Scott, saying he messed up. Jones just stated a fact that they should have done it differently.

A coach can fix it. BB just wants everything to be QD's fault because he has an agenda.

These types of tough lessons shouldn't be required in year 5. And the same thing happened on THREE red zone possessions. This makes me think that Jones will never learn these tough lessons.

If you're using one game as a referendum on whether to keep him, he's already shown enough to be let go. JMO.

I'm saying the winner of that game has a great chance to win the Least. He wins and this season can be salvaged. Lose and environment gets toxic. Fans booing and not showing up.

It's a must win IMO
