People were still talking about player execution and mistakes in 2012 too.

Exactly...why do Saban's players seem to execute enough to win? Dab's? Meyer's? Jimbo's?

Because they are good coaches. It's simple. If you repeatedly have guys "not executing" then either the coaches are putting them in bad spots or not coaching them well to do their jobs.

It's hard because we've won some games that went just like the one today. App State, Ga Tech, Georgia last year, South Carolina 2015, Even if we pull that win out today, are we really satisfied with this brand of football?

We constantly see this team put itself in position to have to do something miraculous to win. Sometimes we have been able to pull the miraculous off and it's created almost a false shine over what Butch has accomplished here.

If Justin Martin doesn't knock that ball out on the goal line on their long run we aren't even in the position to lose on a hail Mary. We just get beat badly most likely.

Guys...1 game does not define the season. We can still win the east. Players have to execute.

I agree. People need to get behind the players and hope for success. Seems like a lot of vol fans want us to lose cause they don't like the coach or certain players.

I will cheer for Tennessee every game. I will celebrate the players win or lose. I will hope for the best for Butch because I want him to succeed.

However, today was the day I lost faith that Butch could figure it out and become an elite SEC coach. It took me awhile but today, for me, was comparable to the MissSt game for Dooley. It was when I knew it was over. Butch is way better than Dooley, but that isn't a whole lot. He has been good for the program, and deserves much more respect than he has gotten. But if we want to celebrate championships he is probably not our guy.

I will watch every game, go to games and enjoy the ride with Butch as coach...but I do not believe he is going to win a title at Tennessee. That sense of lost hope takes some of the joy out of this hobby called Vol football.
