World welcomes Obama win

He'll not have to worry about defending Obama too much. All the stuff he screws up will continue to be blamed on Bush.

20 years from now all the countries problems will be Bush's fault, economic, social, solar flares, Mars' global warming...

I wonder if Obama's pledge to cut middle-class taxes while over-turning Bush's tax cuts for those making over 250,000 will have enough appeal to independents to get their vote? The increase of capital gains taxes to 20% is worrisome, but he even said he might take it as high as 28%.

if making 46K/year makes me rich, then so be it. I suppose that is rich for the local welfare queen who has no tax burden.
I have a feeling that many of the younger Obama supporters do not understand what "rich" is. I also imagine that they donot understand that truly rich people never take it on the chin. When the marginal tax rates go up, so do the number of loopholes. The wealthy hire good tax advisors (not the guy in the wrinkled shirt at an H&R Block next to the Subway) to erase their liability. The folks in the middle always get shafted whenever we decide to "tax the rich".

Exactly, plus taxing the rich even more means less spending which hurts the economy... I'm all for everyone paying thier fair sharre, but how does punishing someone who does well benefit me? Trust me, I am far form rich.

Should go over great withe AARP crowd. Of course, if they think they'll get fully government funded health care then they will probably jump at it.

He is probably more upset about Obama's plans for corporate taxes and tax plans in general, how this will affect the economy in his opinion, and how that will affect his paycheck more so than a direct hit on his paycheck through increased taxes. Then again, I could be completely wrong...Wednesdays are always hard days for me :)
