If you take ties out of the equation, our all-time win percentage is .689, and a 13-game season would yield an expectation of 8.95 - 4.05...effectively 9-4. Where have I seen those numbers before?

Again, my contention was not that it would have made a difference in the record. It may have dropped us for all I knew, although I figured it wouldn't be much impact either way and would impact all teams. I thought the equivalency of a tie as a half win was arbitrary and flawed.

I appreciate you running the numbers.

Houston Kress and co. are absolutely salivating over the idea of us losing in the Swamp this weekend. Doing everything they can to paint this as an easy, EASY win that only a bumbling, incompetent fool of a coach could mess up.

Not saying it should be easy, but I don't recall a Florida game ever setting up for us so well.

Yep. They "win" either way. And if we beat Florida, Butch will get no credit for it whatsoever because it's "the worst Florida team in my lifetime."

We are an underdog on the road. I can't for the life of me understand all this no excuses bs. If we win Butch dang sure deserves some credit.

The Vols don't necessarily win going away to get a win. The Vols don't necessarily absolutely dominate on D to win. It is an opportunity to turn the corner and find a dominating win against SEC competition, but a win doesn't necessarily have to be dominating.

Will be looking forward to seeing how the game plays out.

I'll just drop this here...destined to hit Gainesville @ 3:30PM EST! Let us go!

And yet, even with the line moving our direction, we're still not favored. So f*** it - it'll be a great win!

I can see how you might have interpreted my last comment as being a smartass towards you...I actually meant that it is an even closer approximation of our exact record the past two seasons. :hi:

Guys guys guys guys gals guys....I just found out that I have to work tomorrow, potentially during the game. Tell me what to do. Should I quit the best job I've ever had? Should I call in sick? Should I just go to work, try not to find out the score and watch it on record?

I'm not mature enough to make a proper decision here

We've got a couple posters on this forum doing the same.

Predict doom but talk about how easy a win should be. That way they are covered either way. If we lose they can scream fire Butch. If we win, it was an easy win anyway.

Same thing when they hype players that end up busting out. Just blame the coaches. No way their expert armchair analysis could be wrong so it must be the coaching.

You should've included a "Vol clause" when you were hired.

Go to work and get sick just after lunch.

If you like the job that much a sporting event isn't worth quitting it. Hit record and turn off your phone. It can be done.

Those are the worst kind of trolls that should be banned.

This may have been posted a while back, but can someone list the players that are looking at a redshirt assuming we don't have the injuries we had last year? Also, besides Chandler, Palmer, and Smith, who are the new guys who really look good so far and look like they could really contribute this year? Sorry I don't follow recruiting much, just don't like the football forums bc everyone there is such an asshat. Thanks

You do know we're a road dog... in The Swamp, right?

Since I got my sarcastic response out of the way, you don't think this sets up well for us?

The road dog part is completely meaningless except for perception. Vegas has such a limited body of work to analyze for Florida, it's essentially a Week 1 line.

Record it. Some %^&*ing idiot has scheduled their child's birthday party tomorrow from 3:00-5:00, and I'm taking my son to it. So, I'll begin watching the game around 5:30-6:00. Nice part is no commercials or halftime!
