These are the latest twittter numbers I could find (Note: I'm not sure about Saban but he opened the door to twitter in 2015 and the account was established in Jan 2016. I think all of these are real but I don't know about Saban).

Number of twitter followers

1. Butch Jones 1,320,000
2. Will Muschamp 278,000
3. Bret Bielema 254,000
4. Gus Malzahn 192,000
5. Mark Stoops 153,000
6. Dan Mullen 146,000
7. Kirby Smart 139,000
8. Jim McElwain 119,000
9. Kevin Sumlin 101,000
10. Ed Ogeron 77,300
11. Derek Mason 32,500
12. Gary Odom 18,000
13. Matt Luke 16,000
14. Nick Saban 7,530

Uhh... that's a little scary.

LOL, zero? Not a single national person predicted we'd win the east? You listened to and read every single one to get their predictions and made a spreadsheet?

Dude just cause you heard some local jackleg on mid day radio say he thought the Vols were a sleeper to win the east doesn't mean they got national attention.

Zero national expectations for that team.

Yes. 2015 and last year we were picked by a lot of national people to do better than we did. And we lost 2015 in especially spectacular fashion by giving up huge leads. And after choking away the east last year Butch told everyone that he never said winning the east was the goal. These are the things that have gotten the national media spinning us in a negative way. Not our fans' social media

We were picked to finish 3rd in east.

It absolutely could. McElwain could go 6-6 and Butch could go 8-4 this year and McElwain would still have a better win percentage (.625 - .615) than Butch.

You know what the difference is, though? Florida would send McElwain packing. Butch might get an extension.

The difference, and all reasonable people know this, is the situation butch walked into was a program at a 100 year low while in the most competitive era the the sport has ever seen.

So don't come in here saying Butch is sub par because of that. There are other arguments if you want to make them, but UF and UGA were never short on NFL talent on the rosters.

Link?

I seem to remember the opposite. No one predicted a tough team that would have close loses to OU and Bama, much less UF and UGA. If I remember correctly, the talking heads predicted 6-6 or 7-5 for 2015, not an SECE title.

Tennessee was picked to finish 2nd in the East

We weren't a sleeper to win the east. We were picked to finish 2nd, not far behind Georgia.

Yeah, I'd hate to be stuck with those bum coaches.

Jim McElwain: 19-9 at Florida, 13-3 in conference, two SEC East titles in two tries.

Kirby Smart: 10-5 at Georgia, 4-4 in conference, best collection of young talent in the league besides Alabama.

Butch Jones: 32-21 at Tennessee, 14-18 in conference. 0 SEC East titles in 5 tries.

Probably already been covered but both Mac and Smart took over rosters that were actually SEC quality and they didn't have to resurrect their programs from the ashes of Dooley. Butch just had a true SEC roster last year and was decimated by injuries. However, by all means continue to compare apples to kumquats.

Georgia was by FAR the favorite to win in 2015. They had 166 votes for first place as opposed to our 36.

Unless you come from some different timeline, UT wasn't a favorite by any stretch of the imagination in 2015. Saying we were supposed to win the division is revisionist history. We finished exactly where we were predicted to.

Best talent in the league behind Bama and only 10-5 with no division title and only 4-4 in conference? Yikes. Can't imagine how many signatures the petition would already have to fahr his ass if that happened in Knoxville.
