I dunno Palmer gets great separation from his man and gets open. He had two over throws and one under throw that hit him on the shoulder pads that he still should have caught. I don't see that from Johnson as an outside receiver. He is more of a slot but we have Byrd at the slot so he plays all over.

he played in Indiana state..give the kid time..we are getting into sec play.. now we facing better competition..need more experienced guys on the field..u cant go deep every play..at this point u need guys that's going to move the chains..and Brandon gets separation..he is the best route runner on the team..at the end of the season Brandon going to have more catches and more targets and wouldn't surprise me if he racks up on td's..

He's been like that since the last round of suspensions was announced prior to the Michigan game. I think a lot of their season revolved around Callaway and when he got taken away it shifted to Scarlett but when Scarlett got suspended that was kind of a breaking point for Mac's energy/happy go lucky personality.

Yeah he def needs more reps and time. To me he would be the first WR off the bench right now he knows all the positions which makes him even better. I agree he is the best route runner on the team that's why I think he would be a great slot which is where he might end up. It's definitely a great problem to have with Palmer, Callaway, Johnson, Byrd, and Smith vying for 3 spots. Keeps the competition in practice going and when your starters come out there isn't a drop off in talent or production.

Found this interesting -

Doug Matthews just on the radio said he feels we see a completely different defense this weekend. Said we have only run like 4 designed blitzes in each game, playing very conservative to eliminate big plays and injuries. Should be much more aggressive this weekend. Also said Hoke kept a close eye on the Michigan game because he still has a lot of contacts up there, and we should see some similar defensive packages and stunts.

And somehow, even if we are way more talented or supposed to win, we play down to their level and they squeak it out.

I don't think its they're always better I think a lot of the time it was in our heads and we beat ourselves. How many teams from Manning to last year should we have won because on paper we were the better team and had the better team but because of turnovers, mistakes, bad execution, playing uptight we ended up losing the game. Hopefully they shook that monkey and play like the team that should win.
