We won't be lined up a yard off the ball playing UF this Saturday. Our fans hate Butch so much that they are willing to believe anything said pertaining to him,; not only believe it, but run with it. When the media or other schools mock our coach, many of our fan base join in on social media.

You say you support the team, but not the coach. How can you really do one and not the other. The team plays for Butch. Period. Like it or not. They would stand up for him any day and do when necessary. They'll play hard and fight for him just like they fought to come back numerous games last season and against GT this season. I've never seen a fan base so critical and hateful to their coach as our fans. Every word is criticized. Texas A&M has a Trash Can on the side line also. But,most don't know that. It's a reason why the media piles on, and it's because they realize the can rouse the fans for click bait. Rucker s one of the worst. But, what does our band of idiots know. Did you think it might be the kids who want the can on the sideline and not Butch? Butch may not be the greatest, but he's ours. Some might not think you are the greatest or your wives or GF's are the sexiest, but their yours right?

Valiant effort. You assume the participants in this thread are actually wanting facts. They are not. They want a circle jerk of venting. They enjoy watching others and being watched as they let off steam.

Full disclosure: I have serious reservations about CBJ's ability to build and lead a championship team.

He'll get it after they actually make UF look good on Offense.. Sweep left, sweep right, 5 yard out route to the guy that's getting a 15 yard cushion from Justin Martin.

it does seem like an odd statement -- so, according to as you've shown above, here's the bones of what Coach Jones said: "we're always a yard off the line of scrimmage, or a hand behind the ball" (which prior witness leads many to disagree / to not know / we didn't know that).

Fortunately, after 2 games, it seems Coach Jones has heard enough, as "that's something we continue to talk about and grow and develop" (i.e. it's over; we will grow and develop the ability to line back up on the LOS / it won't be happening at Florida).

I hope they line up on the line against Florida, CBJ is asked about it after the game, and he responds that we've always lined up on the ball. He deals with too much scrutiny from the media and from our "fans."

That's not concern over the Vols, thats trying to take anything the man says and twist the chit out of it to make thread after thread. I can tell when he is sincere and when he's BSing, why can't y'all?

The coach is not the team. Sure, the players love Butch. I love bacon. Doesn't make it the best thing for me though. Sometimes, changes need to be made. IF, again I say if, Butch fails to be what is best for the players, then he will need to be replaced. Now, that is not a cry of "Fire Butch". Let's see how the season plays out. But if a dumpster fire ensues, how do you continue to support Butch? Again, the coach is not the team. Anyone thinking you have to support one to support the other is just wrong. It's not like Butch is the only coach we've ever had. Some coaches get fired, some simply leave of their own accord. It's a mercenary profession.

The defense lining up on the other side of the first down stripe on 3rd/4th and short is this year's version of the offense lining up in the shotgun on 3rd/4th and inches last year.

You're right, Weezer. The coach is not the team.

But he is a part of the team. And at the end of the day, the team is nothing but people. Roughly 120 or 130 of them, including all the scholarship players, all the walk ons, and all the coaching staff.

And here's the pernicious risk we face when we refuse to support a part of that team: it can grow to include a LOT of the team. It's an attitude, a decision not to show loyalty to our lads (including coaches), and once it takes root, it can grow until we're not supporting the team at all.

Consider this:

we hate Butch, want him replaced.
we hate Shoop, want him gone.
we hate Jumper, want him benched.
we hate Martin, think he's a terrible corner back.
we hate Thigpen, don't trust him to develop LBs.
we hate Guarantano, think he's a spoiled brat.
we hate KMac / Richmond / Mosley / Thomas / Kongbo / etc., think he's a bust.
we hate ...

Once you open that door, that Pandora's box, it's real hard to shut it again.

Until you're not supporting the team at all. You're trying to rip it to pieces.

Loyalty is a virtue. It costs nothing to say, "he's our coach until he isn't; as long as he is, I've got his back." And it means a lot to the Team to know their fans are behind them, through thick and thin.

The fans on this board are going the opposite direction lately.
