That almost looked forced to me. If you look at him before and after it just seemed so business like. I commented at the time that it didn't look genuine. Same with Dormady. Maybe I'm wrong but it seemed that way to me.

Really? Go find the clip. The huge grin on JG's face says otherwise. You can see it.

No one will think less of you, but you're basically having to beat Saban twice just to get to the playoff. No other school has to do that, and every top coach wants to get to the playoff. A coach capable of doing that would have options to go to other schools where he wouldn't have to do that.

I think you are on to something. That's probably why, collectively, the coaching in the SEC is probably as bad as it's been since the early to mid 90s.

take it for what it's worth-- he seems to be pretty connected to the program, which means the staff may know something or feel pretty confident most of the suspended players at FL will stay suspended if we play this weekend.

Yea, I know of LWS from years ago on VQ. I just thought it was funny that he was commenting about a situation at UF.

I should add: Dormady and Guarantano are no longer bracketed with an "OR" on the depth chart. It's Dormady No. 1 and Guarantano No. 2.

From Butch Press Conference:
Evan Berry questionable for Florida game. Josh Smith will be ready to play.

Now that he is not naming co-starters, at least we'll only hear people complain about who the starter actually is.

Wait, no, who am I kidding? Some people will complain that he named a starter and be scared that JG will transfer.

Carry on.

I've never been big on firing coaches either but my first thread in the FF was the night of the loss at Florida in 2011. In most all threads it seemed like everyone was wanting to fire Dooley. I only signed up for the forum in Sept. So I was curious who they thought we should get. I was genuinely curious so I started my first thread and it was entitled "Coaching candidates" or something like that. I got a mixed reaction, very hostile from the Dooley brownshirts, but the thread took off and there were a lot of names offered. Some people wanted the thread deleted - a mod, could have been Freak, responded that it was the most active thread on the front page, no way did it deserved deletion. My timing was great that night. :)

I know we're 2-0 but this let's wait and see stuff is okay for some and not for others. The biggest concern is obviously the defense. My position is if you like the defense then cool, if not, raise holy hell. It may not make a difference but collectively the message will get through.

I have another concern which I think Butch is very much aware of. What is the key to winning on the road? The answer comes down to 2 words, Mental Toughness. We're doing pretty good at home and are perfect in neutral site games but we need to improve our mental toughness if we are going to win at a higher level on the road in rivalry games. I think that's something they've been trying to work on this year so that tells me that the staff isn't asleep at the wheel on this either. We lost 3 games last year that were all arguably winnable. All 3 were on the road.

I would be curious to hear who some of the candidates were.

Update from Sankey

"Now that the storm has passed through Gainesville, the University of Florida is working with local authorities to assess the effect of the storm on the campus and the Gainesville community, at the same time ensuring the appropriate security and local officials are available to host a game," Sankey said in the statement.

It will be played in Gainesville IMO

No doubt about it IMO.

Game is getting played in Gainesville on time.

I'm leaning toward that as well. But as someone who works in Fire/EMS the logistics regarding the stadium personnel takes alot. You also have to remember people who normally work at the stadium could be in other parts of the state assisting

Here is my favorite so far...

This post needs to go in the trash. If you do not think Dooley is doing a good job then you do not know football. Fulmer ran this program in the ditch, then Kiffin took over a year and messed things up with the NCAA. Dooley took a team that lost it's starting O-line quarter back and running back and Eric Berry on D and some more and a roster that was crap with NO experience. Get real people. Dooley is the right guy for the job.

For the love of all that is holy, can the next person who thinks about typing "who could we get to coach Tennessee?" at least wait until we have an actual reason to talk about a coaching search.

TIA.

No offense, but it is hard to take you serious with that avi.
