So let's say your 27, and you started playing football at 6 the age that I did. That takes us back 21 years ago. 21 years ago I was 31. I also used the word "about". 31 years ago I had 28 years of football experience. That puts me in my mid 50s.

I've always wanted a stalker. :hi:

Swiss Cake Rolls add 10 years.

I posted this in a FF thread:

I have been patient with CBJ because of the hole he had to dig us out of. I did not expect last year"s team to be great and they did not disappoint. I was surprised by last years quick start, but we just lacked depth and injuries took there toll.

This year I expected more. But these first two games have proved to me that we lack the physical toughness to compete for the SEC East. Georgia, SC, and Vandy all look tougher in the trenches. The SEC is won at the line of scrimmage. Unless something changes this will be a long season.

We also lack emotion. In both games it seems we are just going through the motions. We lack FIRE.

The fact that a proven agressive DC in Shoop still hasn't dialed up a blitz yet tells me all I need to know about what I have seen so far. I didn't agree with the game plan for GT and yesterday didn't do much for me either, but I highly doubt we have seen the actual UT defense yet. We will know a lot more after next week.

I hate to post this, tbh, but these ultra conservative defensive game plans have Butch's influence written all over them. I am not terribly displeased over yesterday's scheme, but like most everyone else, I do question the personnel decisions. The game plan against GT was really bad. It is the reluctance or inability to make changes that bothers me the most. We have to be more aggressive. We did get killed with explosive plays last year, so I am guessing that is part of the reason. If we sit back on our heels against anyone else other than UMass, then it will be a very long year, IMO.

Now this does concern me. It seemed the same way last year.

I am all for recruiting high character players, but you also must have players who have a will to win and are willing to do the dirty work to get it done.

Al Wilson
Hacksaw Reynolds
Peyton Manning
Doug Atkins

I have thought the same thing, but I am not a fan of playing passive then asking players to suddenly dial it up. If this is the plan, then it is a poor plan.

I find it hard to understand some of the approaches that Jones chooses to take. To me it's like it's not in his makeup to just want to smash a team. I find his conservative approach to personnel decisions and other aspects of the game confusing. We're like 17-4 in the last 21 games so up until now it has worked. I'd still like to see a more aggressive mindset going into some of these games. Shoot go balls to the wall and get out here and embarrass a team like Indiana State. Put 70 on the board.

Surprise, surprise!

This team is playing like it's going to finish somewhere between 6-6 and 8-4. I bet this team will beat someone they are predicted to lose to and lose someone they are predicted to beat. Enjoy each football weekend. There are only so many each year.
