Yep. Been saying it for awhile but I'm just not in the "Florida/Donkey sucks" crowd. Idc how they've looked in the first week or two of the season when they see the orange uniforms on the other side they turn into a different team. Will be surprised if Tennessee comes out of there with a win tbh. People can call me negative but it is what it is.

Double standard much? We played up to them the past few years.

According to that article, they don't want to play at Neyland:

"According to sources, it would be Tennessee's preference to not host the Gators at Neyland Stadium on Saturday, which would in turn mean playing at Florida two seasons in a row to get the home-and-home rivalry back on schedule.

It would also leave Tennessee with back-to-back road SEC games at Florida and Georgia next season and only six home games on schedule."

The best option if they run out of neutral site options is for the Commish to do what SC-LSU did and say, "OK y'all are playing at Neyland but UF will be the home team and Tenn will give you the gate $$$"

UF would hate it but we didn't make the hurricane and we shouldn't be the ones getting screwed because of it (LSU asked for what happened to them).

So now the statement changes from "about 30 years before you were born" to "28 years from the time you were 6" lol got it

Also, if we're gonna talk about math, how did you start playing football when you were 6 and have 28 years of football experience when you were 31? lol and I need the math class apparently 😂😂😂

Lol. Lmao, lol rofl (got my 17 yo to help me with that if that tells you anything)

I'm going to try and make this as easy as possible. I realize math can be hard especially the way you melineals were forced to learn it.

You were the one that stated you were in your late 20's. Because of not having your exact age we had to make approximations. Hence why I said I had about 30 years more experience than you. Given that you said you were late 20s, that means to me somewhere in the 27, 28, 29 range. At 27 you would be 28 years younger than me. Now if we both started playing football at the same age, that means I have 28 (approximately 30) years more experience than you. I started at 6 so if you started at 8, that would mean I would have 30 years more experience than you.

For the sake of the others on the board, I'm going to to drop it. There are very few , 3-4 on all of Volnation that I simply cannot interact with. You are one of them so consider yourself in special company. Many on here I disagree with from time to time but they are mostly civil. Bruin for example is a contrarian but and I tire of some of his shenanigans but I can't recall him talking down to other posters. There are others as well. Just as Lagger and I were discussing, we never got disrespectful despite that we disagreed, slightly. I will, in the future do my best to avoid you and I suggest you do the same to me. At least for the sake of other posters on the board.

Listened to Big Orange Sunday this morning and Doug thinks...Offense is going to be good, likes young WR's, RB's and QD. Says QD just needs to play within his game and not force anything, rely on the running game and take shots downfield with 50/50 balls to Callaway and others. Thinks OL definitely needs to improve on pass blocking but likes their run blocking.

Defense...only questions are the DT's and CB's...thinks DT's need to get better push and CB's need to play better. Really likes our DE's, S, and LB. Biggest thing he said...he believes Bituli is our MLB going forward and he'd be shocked if he wasn't. Really likes Bituli, said he's "excellent, a bigtime fb player". Said starting this week we'll see mostly 2 LB's with Bituli and McDowell.

Also says we have the best ST in the nation and need to capitalize on getting field position and points there.

Did he discuss defensive scheme at all? Did he mention the dl off the ball so much?

Ignont needs to play next to Bituli. Kid flashed as soon as he got in. The second unit looked faster than the first unit easily.

Kyle Phillips not starting is hilarious.

Wiggins or Osborne should be ahead of Martin. Or put a young guy in and grow him at CB. Waiting on him to play to his potential level is over with.

Warrior and Gaulden need to be the safeties. Abernathy is naturally a Cb and needs to play there or the nickel. He can't play safety.

Idk why we have some guys in some spots but these coaches would rather lose with guys with no potential to grow than build with the young guys. I'm all for playing good older players but those guys aren't world beaters.

I don't get Abernathy at S. Recruited as a corner, immediately moved to nickel, ends up at safety. He's a really good athlete and needs to be on the field somewhere but seems like we've got better options at S.

How does he really like our DEs lol

I agree with everything.

Doug Matthews is a lot more positive than most, especially about the defense. LWS is saying we have a lot of defensive problems and they will continue to show throughout the season (Jumper thread). He says other players cannot play MLB other than Jumper. They can't line the players up properly and make adjustments he says. This was the excuse last year too and seems like the year before that. So basically we have such a complex defense that only he and Kirkland can do it?! smh

Jumper literally played every snap against GT and didn't come off the field did the very end of ISU. I tend to believe he's gonna continue starting.

I don't believe this excuse. I think Shoop loves him some Jump.

I was super excited for Ty Chandler.
I still believe he isn't much of a drop off from Cam Akers.

I always get frustrated at how fast other coaches are able to get their true freshman up to speed. Oklahoma for example had about 5 true freshman seeing significant time at skill positions vs Ohio st in game 2. We have yet to conquer that

We played 16 true freshman yesterday.

Then the scheme is too complex.
It's the coaches responsibility to make it so the kids aren't having to over think everything. If only two LBs on your entire roster can grasp the concepts and schemes WTF are you coaching? These kids have played Backer their entire lives, now they don't get it... smh

True story: I've taught UT football (and other sports) players in my lifetime. I don't buy the too dumb argument for a minute (there are exceptions) but for the most part if you're a good teacher you can get anyone to learn. They'll never be more talented in the brains dept. than god/the luck of biology gifted them but short of disability or defect they can learn if you as a teacher learn how to teach them.
